These visions of the future are often vague. It is not fun to give away the game’s entire plot after all. But, upon reflection, you realize that these prophecies are very accurate. Some video game characters use this knowledge to alter the future. Precognition is a fascinating power, so here are some great examples of this ability in action.

10Uriel Septim (Skyrim)
At the beginning of your adventure inThe Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, you happen to be in the one cell with a secret entrance that Emperor Uriel Septim needs to escape the city. Upon seeing you, he instantly recognizes you. He has been plagued with dreams foretelling this very moment. This is the day he will die.
Via dreams, Uriel Septim has known about the inevitable arrival of the Oblivion Gates. Although he cannot see the future beyond his death, he knows you will play a vital role in saving the world from Oblivion. The Emperor is a wise man. He really sets the tone for the game, making you eager to fulfill this prophecy. He’s also kind enough to help you determinewhat birthsign you were born underbefore his inevitable demise.
One of the many characters you’re able to encounter inRed Dead Redemption 2is a mysterious soothsayer. She is often found by chance in Bayou Nwa and the Bluewater Marsh. She provides cryptic messages for a price. Her advice foretells events that will happen inthe main storyof both this game and the previous Red Dead Redemption. It isn’t easy to fully decipher everything she says, but if you are on a second playthrough, it is easier to realize what she is referencing. For example, she will hint toward moments of betrayal and death.
She isn’t the only character in the game that can see the future. You can also encounter Blind Man Cassidy, who will provide prophesies for half the price. Both characters will provide these cryptic riddles to both Arthur and John.
8Unnamed Girl (Timelie)
Timelie isn’t aboutbeing in a time loop. Instead, you foresee possible outcomes and determine the best path to take. You play as an unnamed young girl with precognitive powers. These indeed come in handy as you attempt to escape the detection of a series of patrolling robots.

The girl from Timelie’s abilities fit in nicely with the gameplay. Whenever you make a mistake, this is just a possible future timeline you can discard. It is not made clear how she gained this ability. She is a silent protagonist, but you soon become quite attached to her and her pet cat’s journey throughout the game.
7Mama Murphy (Fallout 4)
Mama Murphy is likely one of the first characters you meet in thewide-open worldofFallout 4. Traveling with the Minutemen, Mama Murphy is a psychic, able to use “the Sight” to find out about the future. But there is a catch. She needs to be taking drugs to harness these visions.
Her visions are more often correct than not. For example, she will predict the Deathclaw attack. you’re able to also give her drugs to gain knowledge that will aid you in your main quest. But, provide her with too many chems, and she will, unfortunately, have an overdose. You can also convince her to quit the chems. Doing so saves her life, and she loses her ability to see the future.
6A.I. Sherlock (Crimesight)
Crimesight is all about Foresight Artificial Intelligence. The game takes place in 2075,a mysterious futurewhere crime has almost been completely wiped out thanks to future-predicting A.I. But this system is not entirely foolproof. So, to combat the deadliest of crimes, Sherlock A.I. was created.
In Crimesight, you are either aiding the Sherlock A.I. to prevent a murder in a large manor, or you are working with the Moriarty A.I., a rival precognitive system set on outwitting Sherlock. This game has a lot of strategies, and it is fun attempting to solve a murder before it can even take place.
5Gaunter O’Dimm (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunthad incredible DLC to play through. In Hearts Of Stone, you meet Gaunter O’Dimm and are soon caught up in doing his bidding. He is an intriguing, mysterious character that appears to be all-powerful. He can grant wishes and even claim souls.
Although not outright stated, it is clear that Gaunter O’Dimm can also see the future. If you complete Hearts Of Stone before the main quest of The Witcher 3 and end up accepting a reward from this evil entity, he will help you learn how to get one of the better endings for Ciri. He will hint towards precise moments to come and what decisions you need to make. O’Dimm is all-knowing when it comes to time and perhaps everything else.
Gaunter O’Dimm isn’t the only one who can predict the future. Geralt can also meet an Old Sage in Benek, who will give him hints about the Ithlinne Prophecy. Luckily, his precognitive abilities do not help him with Gwent, so you can still beat him.
4Subject Zero (Katana Zero)
Subject Zero is the protagonist ofKatana Zero, an incrediblenoir-style game. In this side-scrolling platformer, you play as an assassin attempting to uncover more of his mysterious past. He can slow down time and see the future to aid him in this quest. Like Timelie, whenever you fail at a level, it is framed as a potential future that Subject Zero has seen and is now going to avoid.
You learn more about Subject Zero between each level and can even shape his personality yourself through your interactions with the other characters. Subject Zero eventually learns that he used to be a super-soldier and was experimented on to develop these future-seeing abilities.
3Chihaya Mifune (Persona 5)
Persona 5is a story-rich game full of wonderful characters to meet. This includes Chihaya Mifune. She is a fortune teller known for making completely accurate predictions of the future. She can be found at her fortune-telling stand in Shinjuku.
Growing up, her precognitive abilities lead to her becoming an outcast. People grew suspicious that she was always predicting disasters around the village. She is convinced that nothing can be done to stop her visions from coming true. But, during the game, It is possible to change the fates she predicts, which changes her outlook on the future.
2John Vattic (Second Sight)
Second Sight has a fascinating story to unravelthat’s focused on John Vattic. He is a researcher who finds himself locked up in a medical facility and must use his psychic powers to escape. Along the way, he gets multiple flashbacks about his life before this moment, which begins to alter his perception of time.

Theresa isvery helpful to your adventure throughout Fable 2and 3. She often seems to be pulling the strings, orchestrating events to ensure they lead to her desired future. After claiming the spire after the events of Fable 2, her ability grows stronger, allowing her to see visions of all possible futures. After that, she continues to influence the world until the eventual conclusion of her story in Fable: The Journey.
