The event kicks off on June 15, 2025, and concludes with a grand finale on July 17, 2025. The tournament promises to be a thrilling spectacle for esports fans worldwide.

The prize pool for the EWC revealed on July 05, 2025, exceeds US$60 million, making it the largest in esports history.

The Esports World Cup prize pool format explained

The Esports World Cup prize pool breaks the record previously held by Gamers8: The Land of Heroes in 2023, an event with a massive US$45 million prize pool.

The EWC tournaments in Riyadh feature a star-studded lineup of 21 games, including heavy hitters like Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, League of Legends, and Mobile Legends Bang Bang, alongside titles representing a wide variety of genres.

Esports World Cup Club Championship

The Club Championship, a novel cross-game competitive format exclusive to the EWC, allocates a total of US$20 million to the top 16 clubs based on their overall performance throughout the tournament.

To participate in the Club Championship, a Club needs to reach the top 8 in at least two competitions. However, to win the Championship and be crowned the best Club in the world, they must also achieve first place in at least one competition.

It’s important to note that Clubs can only earn points for participants who were publicly announced as part of the organization before the deadline of July 19, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time (AST) 11:59 p.m. GMT+8, 8:59 a.m. PT, or 3:59 p.m. GMT.

This applies even to competitions where qualification or invitations occur after that date.

This format focuses on multi-game competitions, with each club selecting the games they wish to compete in.

At the event’s culmination, the club with the best performance across various game championships becomes the world’s first Esports World Cup Club Champion.

A total of US$20 million is allocated across the top 16 clubs in the Club Championship.

The champion takes home a life-changing grand prize of US$7 million, with the remaining $13 million distributed among the remaining finalists.

Game championships

The remaining prize pool is distributed among three additional categories — Game Championships, MVP awards, and qualifiers.

Each of the 21 Game Championships has its own prize pool, totaling US$33 million.

A standout participant in each competition is awarded a US$50,000 MVP award.

EWC Qualifiers

Before the Game Championships begins, more than US$7 million is up for grabs as teams and athletes compete for tournament spots across eligible qualifier events organized by partnered publishers and event organizers.
