9Oink Oink: Pig Noise (The World Ends With You)
By scanning different locations inThe World Ends With You, Neku can encounter special Noise shaped like pigs. Defeating Pig Noise can be a challenge, as they’ll run off the screen if you don’t erase them fast enough. They have the game’s signature graffiti-like art style, an attribute that would look interesting when translated into a Pokemon.
Pig Noise could be friends with Grafaiai, a Pokemon known for its painting abilities. They could have a talent for graffiti and a signature move similar to Doodle representing this. You might need to stack up on Quick Balls to catch them though, as they can run away at high speeds.
8Armed To The Teeth: Aligo (Xenoblade Chronicles)
Aligo are terrifying, shark-like enemies that appear inXenoblade Chronicles2 and 3. Unlike real-world sharks, they’re not confined to the ocean, as they can use their muscled arms to walk on land. Even if it were a Pokemon, seeing an Aligo would be a frightening experience, especially if it used its arms to run after you while baring its sharp teeth.
An Aligo Pokemon would be a Fighting/Water-type to represent the two facets of its design. Perhaps Aligo could be a rival for Grapploct, as this Pokemon’s Pokedex entry says that it goes onto land to find “an opponent to test its skills against”.
7Ghostly Apparition: Dreadwolf (Octopath Traveler)
The Dreadwolf is a fearsome enemy inOctopath Traveler, and one of the best monsters that H’aanit can Capture to use in battle after the boss version has been defeated. It has a ghostly appearance with piercing orange eyes that contrast its icy blue and black fur. The blue highlights in its fur make it look as though its mane and tail are floating, similar to wisps.

A Pokemon based on the Dreadwolf coulduse its phantom-like qualities in its mythologyand would frequent icy caverns, as it’s found in the Maw of the Ice Dragon. Naturally, it would be a Ghost/Ice-type, roaming the frozen wastelands and protecting its territory.
6Nipping At Your Nose: Jack Frost (Megami Tensei)
Jack Frost is a demon in theMegami Tenseiuniverse that, as its name implies, is based on the fairy tale embodiment of winter. It appears to be a snowman wearing a jester costume, with two sharp fangs.
If Jack Frost were a Pokemon, its mischievous personality could play a role. It would play tricks on unsuspecting trainers and Pokemon, using its ice powers to freeze the ground and cause others to slip. It could also use this technique in battles to get the upper hand.
5Nu Pokemon On The Block: Nu (Chrono Trigger)
The enigmatic Nu are creatures that can be encountered in various locations across time inChrono Trigger. Nu can use a Head-Butt attack that either does one measly point of damage or takes your HP all the way down to one. This could be interesting as a Pokemon move — you would have a 50-50 chance of barely laying a scratch or almost knocking out your opponent in one hit.
A Nu Pokemon’s Shiny form could resemble Spekkio’s final appearance as a pink Nu, one of the most powerful Nu in the game. The Pokedex entry could reference The Mystery of Life book found in Enhasa, stating, “All life begins with Nu and ends with Nu,” which could even rival Mew as the ancestor of all Pokemon.
4Out Of This World: Mr Saturn (Earthbound)
Mr. Saturn are bizarre creatures inEarthboundand Mother 3, living in the village of Saturn Valley. They would be humorous Pokemon due to their unusual appearance and fun personalities. Mr. Saturn are also symbols of innocence thanks to their kind-hearted nature — a quality that could be applied to their Pokemon counterparts, acting as supporting or healing Pokemon.

All Pokemon have a distinct cry, so a Mr. Saturn Pokemon could make use of the unique sounds they say at the end of their sentences, such as “zoom” and “boing,” for example. Overall, they’d be sweet but strange Pokemon.
3Slimy But Smiley: Slime (Dragon Quest)
Slimes are a stapleof theDragon Questseries and have been in just about every game to date, making them one of the most memorable monsters. They’re characterized by their gooey appearance and permanent gummy smile, which would look charming on a Pokemon.
Although they’re considered one of the weaker enemies, they can bind together to create new forms — the slime stack and the king slime. Its Pokemon counterpart could use these variations in its evolutionary line, eventually becoming the king slime as its final form. Perhaps its Shiny could be silver to represent the metal slimes.
2So Cute, Kupo: Moogle (Final Fantasy)
Moogles are a species of small creatureswith a round red nose, bat-like wings, and an antenna with a single pom-pom. Their appearance has evolved over the years, but they have remained a signature part ofFinal Fantasy. A Moogle wouldn’t be amiss in the Pokemon universe, and their personality would seal the deal.

A Moogle Pokemon would be intelligent despite its seemingly innocent appearance, perhaps being Psychic-type. Some Moogles are capable of using telepathy to communicate with others of their species, as well as teleporting to faraway places, which the Pokemon counterpart could also utilize.
1You’d Be Heartless Not To Catch Them: Heartless (Kingdom Hearts)
Heartless are enemies that appear in theKingdom Heartsseries, and represent the darkness that resides in people’s hearts. Though Shadow Heartless are the most common, there are lots of different types, each with their own unique designs — a concept that Pokemon could utilize through evolution and alternate forms.
For example, the Flan Heartless from Kingdom Hearts 3 come in various flavors, similar to Alcremie, with each flavor having a unique move that matches the fruit. Naturally, all the Heartless would have Dark as their primary type, but they could have a secondary type that represents their specific design.
