Considering how big of a gameMinecraftis, it’s hard to notice everything that makes it special. There are quite a few major aspects of the game, like how the terrain is generated to the different monsters that hunt you down at night. But there are so many small details that make Minecraft what it is.

From texture choices to animal behavior, a game that is often mocked for looking the way it does has a surprising amount of depth when it comes to little quirks the developers implemented. There are a couple of details that stand out more than others.
9Llamas Following The Leader
Llamas were added to Minecraft back in version 1.11 and came with the ability to ride them and also drape them in a preferred color as well. These creatures also will spit at a player that hits them, making them a more neutral mob than a passive one.
But despite these details, the best part of llamas is how they all follow each other. If you use a Leadon a Llamawhile it is part of a group, it will begin to follow you as most other mobs do. However, unlike other mobs, the other llamas in the group will follow the one being tugged to form a caravan. This is similar to how llamas in real life tend to stay in groups with each other.
8Cats Sleep On You At Night
Another mob that Mojang put a lot of thought into implementing was cats. Thosewho own catswill understand a lot of these behaviors implemented, such as needing to hold fish out just for the cat to trust you to sitting on chests that you are trying to gain access to.
But one of the best small details that the developers included in this game was how cats love the comfort of a bed. And better yet, when the player tries to fall asleep, the cat will sprawl out on you as your eyes are closing. This will even provide the player with an item, making the adorable process an interesting farming mechanic.
7The Effect Of The Spore Blossom
As part ofthe Caves & Cliffs update, one of the new variations to exploring underground is the occasional discovery of Lush Caves. These vibrant areas are filled with greenery, and among the plants that show up here is the Spore Blossom.
The Spore Blossom is a giant pink flower that hangs upside down in the caves. But the detail that makes this plant so special is the spore aspect of it. By placing a Spore Blossom anywhere, it will begin to rain down pretty spores either directly down or spread out around that have no other effects outside just adding to the atmosphere visually.
6Parrots Dance To Music
Parrots were added to Minecraft to add even more life to the jungle besides just ocelots. Thesebirds can be tamedwith some seeds and can be placed on your shoulder to walk around with or have them hang out near your base.
But the best little detail that was added into the game was that parrots love to groove to a good tune. If you have a music disc and a jukebox, placing a disc into the box with a parrot nearby will start the parrot shimmying back and forth. This also can have a comedic effect when it is rocking out to more slow-paced songs.
5Subtle Grass Changes Per Biome
The biomes are what make Minecraft special. Each area provides its own set of resources that can be important to the individual person, but they are also just aesthetically pleasing when you are walking towards them as the landscape begins to shift to something new.

There are many ways the Mojang works with smaller details with this, but the best is the change in the color of the grass. While some grass changes are super noticeable, from colder biomes to hotter ones, other biomes are more subtle. A great example is the vibrant green of the plains shifting to the slightly colder look of the Extreme Hills biome.
4Baby Pandas Sneezing
Another Jungle biome mob that was added in recent years is pandas. These bears, justlike polar bears, can be aggressive if provoked. But otherwise, they are these chill creatures that enjoy sitting down and eating some bamboo as they hang in bamboo forests. They also occasionally roll in an adorable way.
But a neat little feature that references a classic internet video comes with baby pandas and their parents. Every once in a while, a baby panda may get the sniffles and will sneeze. When it does, and their parent is nearby, they will make a cute sneezing noise while their parent jumps in the air out of fright.
3The Occasional Screaming Goat
Goats are rambunctious mob that, even when not being threatened, will occasionally want to charge you and knock you off the cliff they usually hang out on. Luckily, if they charge into a hard block, you may be lucky toget a goat hornthat has a unique sound effect when blown into.
But as cool as that aspect of goats is, one detail that has a rare chance of showing up is that a goat can spawn that only makes screaming noises. This is yet another reference to viral videos of goats doing this, but it adds to the comedy of these guys causing havoc as they jump around and charge at creatures.
2The Enchanting Table Gaining Power
The enchanting table is arguably one of the coolest looking blocks in the game, with an open book floating on top of a draped obsidian block. But the best part about the enchantment table is when it is all powered up and ready for you to enchant your stuff at the highest level.
When surrounded by bookshelves, the enchanting table will seem to pull specific language out of the books. This can be seen with a cool animation effect of written characters floating from the shelves into the book on the table. It is this kind of detail that makes the process ofgetting stronger gearseem even more awesome.
1Dolphins Swimming With You
A lot of this list has focused on mobs and little details that Mojang has incorporated with each of them. But it is hard to argue that the coolest aspect that the developers put into the game that seems small is what they did with dolphins.
These creatures tend to be friendly to you in the game. So friendly, in fact, that they will want to swim with you. If you join them on this swim, you will then be boosted forward in a way that greatly increases your speed while swimming through the ocean. All the while, these dolphins will be alongside for the entire journey.
