This year’s Oscar nominees have just been revealed, and as usual there are some snubs and, as the kids say, some dubs. There were some expected nominations and some shocks, as well as some much-deserved first time nominations. We’ll take a look at the major categories here, and line them up with what TheGamer’s best guesses were ahead of the nominations. It’s a promising year for the Oscars, with far more crowd pleasers spread out across the board and, most importantly, in the running for Best Picture. Two of the BP noms were the highest grossing movies of 2022, and you can’t get a much wider appeal than that. As well as listing the nominees, we’ll look atour previous picks (as in, the ones we wanted) and predictions (as in, the ones we suspected), have a guess at who will win, who should win, who was the biggest surprise, and who was the major snub.

Biggest Surprise: This Is a Life

Biggest Snub: Carolina, Taylor Swift, Where the Crawdads Sing
