Tera raids inPokemon Scarlet and Violetbring new typing to some of our favoritePokemon. Game Freak has chosen to pay tribute to the infamous surfing Pikachu by throwing a water Tera crown on its iconic mascot, which is much more challenging than it would seem on paper.

Its ability Volt Absorb means its only weakness is Grass-type attacks, and its moveset offers plenty of coverage options. It also holds a light ball, which doubles its attack and special attack stat. Luckily, there are still plenty of options to choose from when approaching these seven-star raids.
8Toedscruel
One of the less popular but still effective answers for the seven-star Pikachu Water Tera type raid is Toedscruel. While its unique ability is useless here, its typing and move pool provide a valuable support option for this terranean toadstool.
It has access to both screens and Acid Spray, which is perfect for providing defensive bulky and increased offensive output for its teammates. As a Ground type, it’s immune to electric attacks, and it resists Water attacks due to its additional grass typing, making it a great fit in the fight against Pikachu.
7Meowscarada
Despite the fact that it’sone of the hardest hittersin the game, Paldea’s Grass starter isn’t always the best pick for raids, but it works great against Pikachu. Even with zero speed investment, it’s still faster, allowing it to redistribute those points to its HP, and with a Shell Bell, it can recover its HP whenever it does damage.

Meowscarada can use Knock off to take remove Pikachu’s Light Ball and cut its damage output in half. It can then repeatedly fire away with Flower tricks until the job is done. That said, Pikachu has access to Play Rough, so it’s best to use Meowscarada’s Protean ability to remove its dark typing.
6Clodsire
One of the few non-Grass-type options for Pikachu raids is Clodsire. Its ability, Water Absorb, makes it immune to surf, and as a ground type, it’s immune to thunder. Combine this with its access to Yawn, Acid spray, and Helping Hand, and Clodsire becomes a fantastic support for these seven-star raids.
This works best with a max EV build and a recovery item like black sludge. Since Pikachu uses its first turn to set up Rain Dance, it provides the perfect opportunity for this muddy éclair to put it to sleep with Yawn and then immediately assist its teammates in making quick work of these seven-star raids.
5Lilligant
Another way to ensure this gets washed up quickly is to bring out the sun, which is exactly where Lilligant shines the most. As one of the fastest Chlorophyll users available, Lilligant can prove to be a major Pika problem simply by using Sunny Day on turn one.

From there, its doubled speed gives it several options. It has both Solar Beam and Giga Drain for damage and recovery and moves like Sleep Powder and After You for support. When it comes to seven-star surfing Pikachu raids, there’s a lot to love with Lilligant.
4Lurantis
A solid offensive option against this watered-down icon is Lurantis. While it may look like a Bug, it’s actually a pure Grass-type that can quickly become a powerful pika threat with its unique ability. Contrary increases its stats when they are dropped by a move, allowing things like Leaf storm to increase attack potential.
Like Meowscarada, it can increase its longevity by fully investing in HP and adding Shell Bell for additional recovery. It also has access to synthesis, so you won’t have to rely on cheering to keep it alive. It’s a fantastic pick that can add some extra firepower in these seven-star raids.
3Wo-chein
If there’s one Pokémon who is truly legendary in seven-star Pikachu raids, it’s Wo-chein. Its mere presence reduces Pikachu’s physical attacks, and its Stab-boosted snarl can deal chip damage while reducing the iconic mascot’s special attacks.

With a base defense of 135, It’s incredibly bulky and can further support its Grass-type allies with Grassy Terrain and Pollen Puff. Paired with an Absorb Bulb or a Terian booster, it becomes a powerful support option against this surfing smash brother. However, just like Meowscarada, it still needs to keep an eye out for a potential Pika-Play Rough.
2Appletun
There are a ton of reasons to pick Appletun for seven-star Pikachu raids. For starters, its defensive stats and typing doubled resistance to both Water and Electric-type attacks make it incredibly bulky.
Additionally, Its signature move, Apple Acid, lowers the opponent’s special defense, which can be helpful not only for snowballing its own damage potential but its teammates as well. Combine this with its Ripen ability doubling the effect of berries and its access to the move Recycle, and you have an incredible offensive tank that never stops snacking.
1Arboliva
When it comes to seven-star Pikachu raids, it’s always best to believe in Arboliva. As one ofthe game’s most defensive Pokemon, It’s by far the best pick. It has all the best moves at its disposal, such as Sunny Day, Helping Hand, and Pollen Puff - but its base 125 Special Attack allows for some of the most powerful Giga Drains available.
Its harvest ability increases its survivability and attack potential by adding grassy terrain into the mix. Combining this with Strength Sap can quickly shut down any of Pikachu’s physical attacks while simultaneously replenishing its health. All of these factors make Arboliva nearly invincible, making it the best pick for taking down this water crown.
