Call of Duty: Black Ops 4is currently unplayable on PC. Developer Treyarch has remained silent as the servers remain offline for more than two days, with players left totally in the lurch.
Treyarch confirmed Black Ops 4 on PC was “experiencing technical issues and may appear offline.” It later confirmed it was working to “rectify the issue,” but didn’t say what the issue was or when servers would come back online.

After that came26 hours of absolutely nothing. A small update was pushed yesterday, but players hoping to log in were insteadgreeted with a black screen, while others simplyreceivederror codes. Another update earlier today has beensimilarly unsuccessfulat returning Black Ops 4 to operation.
We can only speculate as to why Black Ops 4 has remained offline for more than 48 hours, but it may have something to do with a long-standing bug that prevented players from accessing the game’s Black Market. Essentially a cosmetic hub, the Black Market is where players go to unlock items like calling cards, operator outfits, and emotes. Players have beencomplainingformonthsthat attempting to access the Black Market causes the game to crash with a fatal error on PC, and whilethere’s a potential fix(thanks,Piunikaweb), it doesn’t seem to be widely known or work reliably.
Since Black Ops 4 is an older game with few players purchasing new, most, if not all the money it generates now comes from the Black Market. Activision is a company that seems very interested in making money, so fixing this Black Market bug is probably a priority.
Whether Black Ops 4 is down to fix the Black Market bug is a matter of conjecture. Treyarch hasn’t provided an update since Valentine’s Day, and while it appears to be working on the problem, your guess is as good as mine as to when Black Ops 4 will be back in business on PC.
