However, what sets Chained Echoes apart from a lot of other games is the concept of your characters not leveling up. While your characters themselves can’t reach higher levels, their skill sets and weapons can be improved. Because of this, it’s important to establish an arsenal of high quality weapons. If you play your cards right, you’re able to end up with high-level and powerful swords, bows, and guns.

10Durandal

The Durandal is also known as the Rusty Sword. In order to obtain the Durandal, you must complete the side quest known as Into the Maelstrom. Once you complete this mission, you will be awarded the rare sword that can be leveled up into one of the most powerful weapons in the game.

You can only unlock the side quest that will bring you this weapon once you defeat the main story. However, as soon as you complete your journey, you will be well on your way to collecting all the rare (and best) weapons.

You will not want to overlook obtaining the Gae Bulg. This spear can be upgraded to a very powerful long-distance weapon. While it can take some time to get, the weapon is well worth the wait.

8Vel

Vel is another name for the Rusty Gun Spear. This weapon can be found in Flying Continent Shambala. There you will encounter three different islands. to collect the gunspear, you will need to deactivate any active weapons.

The rusty gun spear is not only powerful, but also wildly useful. Vel doubles as a short and long-distance weapon, and can of course be leveled up through battle. Obtaining the spear can be off-putting, but it will also help tremendously once you do get it.

7Pappenheimer

Pappenheimer is a fancy name for the Rusty Rapier. In order to get the Pappenheimer, you must find it in a mansion that resides in Rohlan Fields central lake. There are a series of hurdles you must barrel through first, however, such as getting the right keys and armor.

Not only does the rapier have a lot of potential, but it also has a lot of style. Once you pick it up, it is nearly impossible to put down.

6Pinaka

The Rusty Bow, also known as Pinaka, is the outcome of defeating the quest No Place for Happy Endings. Unfortunately, you will have to unlock the side quest before you can unlock the weapon. But the deeper a weapon is hidden, the more it is worth the effort of finding it.

A bow is a must-have in the game, but this particular bow holds the potential to be more powerful than any of the others. Don’t be daunted by the journey to receive the Pinaka, however.

5Northilol

While not technically a weapon, the Rusty Anchor, or Northilol, is a great advantage to have. You will have to complete the A Little Vacation side quest first. After you beat the side quest, you will be able to find the Northilol in an ocean side resort.

Anchors, like weapons, can be leveled up and become very powerful. Or, at the very least, they can become very important to your journey. The Rusty Anchor is a low-risk, high reward item to go after.

When it comes to guns that are within the game, there are hardly any as sought after as the Jager. In order to obtain this gun, you will need to recruit another character to clear out an area of the Fiorwoods. After the mess is gone, you will find the Jager.

3Masamune

Within the side quest Two-Winged Angel, you can find the Rusty Katana. The katana also goes by the name Masamune, and the side quest that leads you to the weapon can be unlocked once you complete the main story.

Afterward, you will be able to buy the katana outright. The blade is a bit pricey, but its strength and durability make up for the steep price. Although you may level it up, the blade holds a lot of power on its own.

2Vajra-Mushti

Never overlook the power of having metal knuckles. The Rusty Knuckles (Vajra-Mushti) is relatively easy to get in comparison to the other rusty weapons. In order to get the knuckles into your possession, you will need to complete at least 96 objectives on the reward board.

The Vajra-Mushti is a great option if you are a bigger fan of melee combat than long-distance fighting. Despite the close range, you will still be able to deliver a powerful and hard-hitting blow to your opponents.
