Here’s everything you need to know about this wish system, including its rules, permanency, examples, release date, and more.

What is Chronicled Wish in Genshin Impact?

Chronicled Wish is a special feature introduced in version 4.5 of Genshin Impact. It’s essentially a type of Event Wish where players can make wishes to obtain specific rerun characters and weapons.

When you make wishes in Chronicled Wish, you have the chance to receive random items of varying rarity, including 5-star, 4-star, and 3-star items.

What sets Chronicled Wish apart from other Event Wishes is that its item pool includes both 5-star characters and 5-star weapons.

Additionally, players can also obtain several event wish-exclusive characters and weapons through Chronicled Wish.

Chronicled Wish explained: How does it work?

Simply put, Chronicled Wish works similarly to Genshin’s current Weapon Event Wish system “Epitome Invocation,” but with a few major changes.

Before wishing, the system prompts you to choose your “Chronicled Path” by choosing a 5-star character or weapon from the available list.

If you select a 5-star character as your designated item, all the 5-star items you obtain from the wish are characters.

Conversely, if you choose a weapon as your designated item, all the 5-star items you get from the wish are weapons.

There are guarantees for both 5-star and 4-star items in this wish. You are assured to receive a 5-star item within a maximum of 90 wishes.

When you do get a 5-star item, there’s a 50% chance it is the designated item you chose.

Additionally, you’re guaranteed to obtain a 4-star or higher item at least once every 10 attempts.

What happens if I lose 50-50 in Chronicled Wish?

If you happen to get a different 5-star than your desired item, you’ll earn one Fate Point. Accumulating one Fate Point guarantees that the next 5-star item you receive from this wish is your chosen item.

However, if you manage to obtain your chosen item through a wish or if you decide to change your selection, your Fate Points reset to zero.

For example, let’s say you choose the 5-star character Albedo as your desired character. After making several wishes, you receive Diluc, a different 5-star character, instead.

This earns you one Fate Point. Then, if you continue wishing, your next 5-star item is guaranteed to be Albedo, the character you initially selected.

Chronicled Wish counter and Fate Points reset

The guarantee count for wishes keeps adding up and carries over to the next Chronicled Wish.

It’s important to note that this guarantee count is specific only to this new wish system and is separate from the guarantee counts for other types of wishes in the game.

However, Fate Points do not carry over to the next Chronicled Wish. Instead, they reset to zero when the current wish banner ends.

This means that each time a new Chronicled Wish begins, you start fresh with no accumulated Fate Points from previous ones.

Is Chronicled Wish permanent?

This new wish system is not permanent and is only be available “from time to time” according to anofficial statement released by HoYoverse.

The feature debuts in version 4.5, which releases onMarch 13, 2024.Its frequency and rerun remain to be determined.

Only event-exclusive 5-star characters that have appeared in the Character Event Wish or Character Event Wish-2 at least three times, and haven’t been featured in recent Event Wishes, are available.

Event-exclusive 5-star characters that have previously appeared in Chronicled Wish may still reappear in future Chronicled Wishes or other types of Event Wishes.
