Once you get access to the open world inForspoken, you will only have access to one region - the area around Cipal. It doesn’t even get to belong to one of the four nations of Athia. Don’t worry, though, there are plenty of things to do in this area - from ruins to scout, guilds to explore, and Locked Labyrinths to delve into.

Forspoken - Barren Plains Area Guide

The sections below will detail all of the areas in the region of Cipal, along with the activities that you can complete within them. Some of the entries will link to other guides on the site, as they require a bit more explanation.

The Barren Plains

The Barren Plains is the first area you’ll enter after being able to leave Cipal for the first time - as you might expect, it doesn’t hold too much challenge, even for new players. Even the optional boss Mutant is one of the easier ones!

The Blessed Plains

The Blessed Plains is the first of a few ‘big’ areas you’ll encounter. There’s lots to do here, but don’t get caught up trying to complete it all in one go - a few things, such as one of the Monuments and the Locked Labyrinth, require advanced movement abilities to access.

The Sacred Peaks

Once you’ve acquired the Zip ability after beating the first big boss of the game, you’ll be able to access The Sacred Peaks from the north of The Blessed Plains. It’s quite a tough area to conquer, though, so beware.

Kadmeia Guild

Scout the guild for lore while fighting off the Kelaino. There is also a chest on the roof that you can access from the balcony.

Abandoned Merchant Convoy

Defeat the Nightmares - there are Riven Wings and Riven Carcasses.

On Point nail design

Defeat the Breakzombies, Argentavis, and Boggarts.

The Place of Prayer

Scout the area, beating the Breakzombies, Hylonomus, Gruagach, Harpagos, and Goliaths. There are three waves to fight.

Sneak up on the familiar and pet it.

The Pilgrims' Path

This blink-and-you’ll-miss-it area is very small and serves largely as a transition between Cipal and Junoon, but it has two easily-obtained stat boosts for you to grab!

Eliminate the Breakzombies and Kelaino here.
