While often overlooked,Inscriptioncan turn out to be one of the more desirable professions in the latest expansion. Not only does it offer cosmetic changes to Dragonriding mounts, but it also provides highly sought-after gear. However, its recipes can be a bit overwhelming. Here’s everything you need to know about Inscription in the latest expansion.

Overview

When people first think of the keystone herb refinement profession, their thoughts may stray towardAlchemy, which is fondly remembered for itspotions and flasks. Yet in the background,Inscription takes those same herbs and offers a wider varietyof ways to use them, including recipes that may appeal to more than just the endgame players.

That being said, Inscription cannot do anything without those gathered herbs. It’s often a great idea topair Inscription with Herbalismto allow you to collect your own.

How To Rank Up In Inscription

Your best bet for efficiently leveling through Inscription is tocraft anything that appears orange, as that guarantees a rank up. This will be an easy task for the first half of the grind, level one to 50, since you can rely on your profession trainer to teach you new recipes. Make sure you have a healthy supply of herbs on hand to give you the necessary resources.

Once you reach level 50,you will run out of available recipesfrom your profession trainer. In order to reach level 100, it will be dependent upon you to eitherspecialize in a certain talent treeto acquire higher-end recipes or farm them fromopen-world or endgame content.

Inscription Specializations

When you mill herbs and craft new recipes for the first time, you’ll encounter points calledDragon Isles Inscription Knowledge. At level 25, these will be used to unlock your Inscription specializations, allowing you to master a certain area of the profession. Keep in mind thatyou can only specialize in one talent tree at first.

Rune Mastery

Rune Masteryis the first specialization, serving as an overview of all facets of Inscription. While you may not be able to learn any new recipes from this tree, you’ll improve your overall skilland have the chance torecover reagentsback from completed recipes.

Archiving

The second specialization,Archiving, unlocks a majority of Inscription’s hidden recipes. This tree will allow you tospecialize in trinkets like the Darkmoon Deck, create specificMissivesfor crafting and gathering tools, and allow you to unlockSigils.

Runebinding

The third and final specialization isRunebinding. Much like Archiving, this is another tree that will unlock hidden recipes that Rune Mastery doesn’t offer. Runebinding pertains mainly to weapons and different types of runes, and you will become a master ofenhancing the qualityof these items.
