Legends of Runeterrais a digital card game set in the diverse world of Runeterra. If you play League of Legends, you will be familiar with this game’s famous characters and locations. The card game offers eleven unique regions with a unique playstyle that continues to expand as the game grows.

The game allows you to build decks with a limit of only two regions. The game encourages building decks with multiple regions to over the weakness of a particular region. Along with the regions, you build decks based on the Champions you want in your deck. The Champions focus on an aspect of the region they are from and expand the region’s gameplay style even further.
Demacia
The Demacia Region, like in the lore, is generally aboutcreating a wall of units to attack and defend. The region has a lot ofgreat low-cost followers, and the higher-cost units typically have effects that spread to all friendly units on the field.
This region generally findsmore success in the late game, when your board is full and supported, than in the early game. The region does not have many damaging Spells, and the Spells of the region mainly consist of buffs to units. If you need to remove a powerful enemy card, you must face it in combat.
Noxus
This region is aboutoffenseanddefeating your opponent as soon as possible. Noxus has many damaging spells that deal damage or stun the enemy. You will find out that, generally, many of the higher-cost followers of the region have lower health with more attack power.
Compared to other regions,your higher-cost units can struggle to survive, so you want to avoid games that go on for too long.
Freijord
The Freijord is a slow and powerful region withlate-game followers with a lot of health. This region has a lot of control, with its uniqueKeyword,Frostbite, which turns a unit’s power to zero.
With your powerfulcontrol options, you want to slow the game down to make it to the late game to summon your powerful followers.You also have a few cards that canrestore used mana, so you may keep playing spells toslow your opponent.
Piltover & Zaun
This region is one of the regions that is a mixed bag, which allows it to play well with other regions.Piltover & Zaun is a region with many spells that can do a wide variety of things to the battlefield, even trap the opponent’s deck.Gameplay-wise, you want to control the battlefield and force your opponent to react to the spells you play.
The region also has powerfulChampionswith unique play styles that work great with Champions from other regions.
Ionia
Ionia is a region with many options torestrict your opponent’s gameplayand cards to take advantage of their weakened state. This region is a middle ground between Demacia and Piltover & Zaun; it has greatsupportive followersandspells that can change the tide of battle.
Besides Stun, the region also uses the KeywordRecall, which returns a unit to the hand.You canuse Recall spells toavoid damageand remove dangerous opponents from the board.
Shadow Isle
The Shadow Isle has agreat mixture of powerful and weaker followers, along withgreat spells. This region has many spells that can damage your units, but many cards benefit from destroying their allies.
The Shadow Isle is theonly region that can revive units from the dead, including the powerful Champions this region has. The region has a lot of ways to win unconventionally, with units that can drain from the opponent’s Nexus.
Bilgewater
Bilgewater is the first expansion to the game, and it is another region that mixes well with other regions. There are two sides to Bilgewater, thepiratesand thesea monster. Both sides of the region generally offer ahigh-risk, high-rewardgameplay style.
The pirates can play off the KeywordPlunder, which isan effect that activates after you deal damageto the opponent’s Nexus. In contrast, the sea monster plays off a unique Keyword calledDeep, whichincreases the stats of the sea monsterwhen you have less than 15 of fewer cards in your deck.
Targon
Targon is a unique region withmany supportive healing abilitiesand strong late-game dragons. The addition of the Targon region in the game added alot of unique keywordsto the game. Targon is like Freijord, focusing onsurviving to the late game to play your influential dragon followers, who have the KeywordFurythat gives astat increasewhen they survive the battle.
This region haspowerful Championsthat are designed with a preferred play style which will decide how you play the region.
Shurima
Shurima is the expansion that introduced the new card type calledLandmark. Landmarks arecards that cannot attack but provide supportto your units. Some Landmarks have effects once their Countdown or number of turns on the field pass.
Many of the region’sChampionsplay off of Landmarks, especiallytheAscended Champions.They canlevel up twiceonce you complete the Countdown of the Landmarks,Buried Sun Disc.The region also has cards to support its followers with buffs and support its Landmarks.
Bandle City
Bandle City is anotherjack-of-all-trades regiondesigned to work with another region. Many of its units are multi-region, meaning you’re able to play cards from this region in another without surpassing the two-region limit.
This region has supportive low-cost followers and benefits from having the board full.Bandle City also has a lot of great spells to support your line of low-cost followers against more significant threats.
Runeterra
Lore-wise, Runeterra is not a region but the world where the game takes place. This region is unique in the game; it borrows cards from other regions.
Only Champions are shown in the Runeterra card list, and using aChampion in this region counts as using a region.
All the Champions in this region have unique playstyles and play entirely differently. When you select a Champion from this region in your deck, you can choose followers and spells from other regions.The Champions have a unique card called an Origin which restricts which cards you can pull from.
