How To Survive The Cold

When Kate leaves the wreck of the Hermes, she puts on a jacket to ward off the cold. This marks the beginning of Chapter Three. Walk along the path andactivate the pillarabout midway up, then keep going;ignore the side path for now.

Stay on the right side of the trail to find two Knowledge Cubes. At the end of the path, approach the closed gateto trigger a cutscene and unlock the Thermic Charger’s ability to melt ice. Now it’s time toreturn to the side paththat you passed earlier.

kate stands next to a burning bush to keep warm while deciding how to proceed

When you reach the frozen lake, Kate will slowly start developing hypothermia. You need to stay near heat sources to keep the condition from building up - if the meter fills completely, it’s game over.Scan the orange plants to the leftto discover that they are easily burned. You can ignite them with the Thermic Charger to gain a heat source.

Continue up the hill, fighting any Scorpioids that emerge, until you come to acontainer blocking your path.Ignite the nearby bush to give yourself a fire, thenmelt the ice underneath the containerto cause it to sink. It may take several shots, but once the container sinks and the ice re-freezes, you can climb on top of it to reach the next area.

At the next frozen lake, you’ll be attacked by a pair of Exo-Alluvials. You don’t actually need to fight them; justdrop a Holo-Lure and run pastto save health and ammo. At the top of the hill are a pair of Rippers. Defeating them is required to move on; light them on fire (along with any nearby bushes) to deal with them quickly, then pick up the nearby Info Capsule andcrawl through the passageat the end of the path.

How To Reach And Defeat The Fur Colossus

On the other side of the passage, the cold is no longer a danger… for the time being, at least.Insert the Info Capsuleinto the red pedestal on the left to gain a large amount of Knowledge, then take the upward path in a clockwise direction.Scan the device at the top, then check behind it for a Knowledge Cube.

From the top of the hill, look back toward the gate. You can power two of the locks within plain sight byshooting them with VERA.The third lock isfar to the right, only visible from the hilltop. When all three locks are powered, the gate will open. Approach the red sphere on the other side to trigger a cutscene.

Pick up the Knowledge Cube to the left of the sphere, then turn around; you’ll see anupward path to the right.Start climbing, and you’ll be attacked by aFur Colossus. This fight is identical to the other Colossi you’ve fought, except that this one is weak against fire and difficult to freeze. The best strategy is todistract it with the Holo-Lurebefore shooting the nodes on its back with the Thermic Charger.

When the Colossus is dead, scan its body and keep climbing. Be sure to pick up the Knowledge Cubenear the ledge at the first bend in the path, and a second one to the right shortly afterward. Just past the second Cube is a pillar, which will probably be a welcome sight!

How To Cross The Collapsed Bridge

The bridge in front of you will collapse when you approach, sotake the lower path to the right. You’ll be able to collect another pair of Knowledge Cubes as you skirt around the bridge’s pillars. When you reach a wide plain at the bottom, you’ll be attacked from multiple sides by Scorpioids, as well as an exploding Arachnid.Have the Resistance Booster equippedto deal with Toxicity, and pick off your targets one by one with VERA.

Once the creatures are defeated, harvest the nearby Galvanic Extractto recover some ammo, then make your way to the bottom of the valley. You’ll find a red terminal. It needs a power source, sotake the path behind youdeeper into the canyon.

At the frozen lake, you’ll encounter a Ripper and two Scorpioid Eggs. If you’re quick, you canburn the eggs before they hatch, letting you handle the Ripper solo. After the battle, burn through the icicles on the leftto get a Knowledge Cube. Next, take the right-hand path tofind the power source beyond another icicle wall.

On the way back, you’ll be attacked by a Glacial Alluvium; you can fight it byusing Vera to penetrate its chest armor, or you canjust let it kill youto respawn at the pillar with the power source in hand.

kate approaches the door to the transit facility

Insert the power source into the terminal to start the rings above rotating.Freeze the water under the rings. To cause them to back up, until all four parts are connected. Then, return to the terminaland cut the power when the rotation is at the top - this will create a bridge that you may cross!

You don’t need to return to the pillar at this point; after you cross the cylinder, there will be a terminal on the other side thatrepairs the destroyed bridge, giving you an easy route back! There’s even a Knowledge Cube on the side of the bridge as well.

How To Open The Giant Doors

Beyond the bridge are several locked doors. Use the power source toactivate the terminal all the way to the left, and enter the door that opens. A Glacial Alluvium will descend from the upper level, giving you a chance to scan one if you skipped the earlier fight.

After defeating the Alluvium, approach the alien pedestalin the upper area. Translate the red glyphs on the left, thenexamine the base.Check the large component on the left side of the base, another to the right of the sphere, and a third underneath the sphere. Once you’ve fully examined the pedestal, you’ll receive the Gravity Trap, a mine that slows enemies near it.

From the pedestal, check the ledge behind you for anInfo Capsule and Knowledge Cube. There’s a second Knowledge Cube by the monolith as well. Continue upward, fighting the Alluvials that attack you along the way.

Glacial Alluvia emit a burst of extreme cold when they die -burn plants nearby to warm upafter each fight if you need to!

Once the Alluvia are defeated, use the Gravity Trapto slow the laser barrier so that you can cross it. Take the Knowledge Cube on the other side, thenremove the power source from the terminal. This will shut down the laser fence, so you don’t need to slow it again in order to leave. On your way out, check the blue light to the right of the fence. It will give you a complete ammo refill!

Go back outside andremove the first power source from the pedestal, closing the door behind you. you may use the two power sources that you now have to power the larger door. First, you’ll need to fight the Fur Colossus that emerges from the snow. The only real complication in this fight is theconstant swarm of Arachnidsthat keep appearing. Use melee attacks or quick shots from VERA to get rid of the bugs whileconstantly setting the Colossus on fire.

If you activate a pillar, the Colossus will return, but the Arachnids won’t.

How To Get Through The Frozen Caves

Beyond the large door, you’ll be attacked by a Tunnel Serpent thatemerges from the wall to the right.Shoot it in the center of its head twice with VERA to kill it, being careful to avoid its shots. Scan its body, look to the left for some icicles to melt; beyond them is a Knowledge Cube.

Next is a narrow tunnel withthree Tunnel Serpentsand a pair of Toxic Arachnids. Shoot them all in rapid succession to take them down - the Gravity Trap can slow them if you’re having trouble.

Past the Toxic Arachnids, each of two side paths leads to a Knowledge Cube.Collect them, then continue down the center passage. Keep an eye on the right side for a third Cube during Kate’s conversation with the Apparition. Immediately afterward, another Tunnel Serpent will appear, along with some standard Arachnids.

Climb onto the ledge on the left to get an Info Capsule, then use the natural bridge to reach the right ledge for yet another Knowledge Cube. Next, continue along the main path; you’ll see a terminal on the left where you canuse the Info Capsule. There’s also a Knowledge Cube under the natural bridge.

When you’ve collected everything, take the path just to the right of the glowing orb.Stick to the right wall to get a Knowledge Cube, but be ready for a tough fight - the next area is cold enough to cause hypothermia, and you’ll come face-to-face with a Glacial Alluvium.Only use flammable bushes when you’re about to freeze, because the moment the Alluvium dies a Fur Colossus will appear. As soon as the Colossus is defeated, crawl through the tunnel on the far sideto activate the pillar there!

The key to winning this fight is to destroy the Glacial Alluvium as quickly as possible, since it can both regenerate and speed up your hypothermia. After landing a critical hit on its heart, use the Gravity Trapto slow it down and finish it off with repeated shots to unarmored areas.

How To Win The First Fight With The Construct

After activating the pillar, you’ll have to fight the Construct, a scorpion-like war machine. Its armor is too thick to be damaged; instead, wait for it to land in the middle of the lake, thenmelt the ice under its legs. The Gravity Trap can help keep it in place during this process.

Once three legs are in the water simultaneously, the ice will shatter, stunning the Construct for a brief period. During this time, it willdeploy heating coils near its head.Shoot both with VERA to deal heavy damage. The Construct will flee once its health bar is reduced by half. Follow it into the caves andactivate the pillar inside.

How To Follow The Construct

At the first fork after the pillar, the left-hand path is adead endthat contains a Knowledge Cube and a Healing Stimulant. Collect both, then return to the fork and take the right-hand path. At the top of the climb you’ll see three Winged Leeches, a new enemy. The only weapon that can reliably hit them is VERA, but when they swoop in close you canfreeze them with the Cryo Launcherif you’re quick on the draw.

Scan the dead Leeches, pick up the Knowledge Cube at the far end of the room, then continue upward. You can grab another Knowledge Cubeto the right of the bridgebefore crossing it. Kill or bypass the Tunnel Serpent on the other side of the bridge, and keep going. A third Knowledge Cube is on the left, just past the creature’s lair.

At the end of the tunnel, squeeze through the gapto find an icy chamber. Kill the two Arachnids that appear, and you’ll see a Fur Colossus at the far end of the room. Take it slow, and the monster won’t notice you. You can easily kill the Colossus byshooting the icicles above it.Two will be enough to bring it down.

Once the Colossus is no longer a problem, look to the leftfor some rime to burn through. Beyond arethree Knowledge Cubesguarded by a single Scorpioid! Collect them all, then return to the main chamber. Squeeze through the small gap near where the Colossus was in order to continue.

After a long path, you’ll come upona swarm of Scorpioids and Winged Leeches. The Scorpioids will pursue you if you retreat, but the Leeches won’t - use this todivide them upand deal with fewer enemies at once.

There are two paths beyond the swarm - the lower path to the right leads to a fight with an Exo-Alluvial, but you’llget a Knowledge Cube and a clip upgrade for the Thermic Charger for your trouble. You can then easily hop back down to the fork and take the left path upward.

How To Escape The Arachnid Nest

Along the left path, the ice will collapse, dropping you into a cave where you’ll beimmediately attacked by a swarm of Arachnids.Freeze the big ones or dodge their explosions, then clean up the rest of the bugs with melee attacks or fire. If you’ve unlocked the Melee Killing Blow ability, this isa chance to get some free heals.

Go to the left, following the only path available, butbe ready for a Scorpioid ambush. There’s a Knowledge Cube on the ledge to the right; collect it before continuing onward. The pathloops around clockwise, leading upward - it can be easy to get turned around here, so when in doubt stand near the dead Scorpioids and look around.

Past the locked gate is a large flock of Leeches. Fight your way past them and take a right; this will take you to the other side of the bridge that you fell through. Collect the Knowledge Cube and Info Capsule there, thenreturn to the gateto translate the Capsule.

Before continuing your climb, take the leftmost pathto get a Knowledge Cube. Once you have everything, take the middle path upward. Follow the Apparition through the gate; the path curves to the left afterward.

About halfway up, you’ll have to fight some Scorpioids. Collect the Knowledge Cube on the right after beating them and move on. A swarm of Arachnids will emerge from the ground in front of you, but past them is ared force field with a pillar next to it.Be sure to save at the pillar, since it’s a long way back to the previous one otherwise!

How To Get Through The Blizzard

you’re able to’t get through the force field yet, sotake the path leading downwardinto a blizzard. Your hypothermia will quickly increase here, so watch the ground ahead for flammable bushes andgo straight to them.

When you pass through a canyon, run as fast as you’re able to through it, keeping to the right. You can pick up a Knowledge Cube and get past the Glacial Alluvium that’s moving to block your path. It’s too dangerous to fight the Alluvium in the cold, sostay near burning bushes only as long as you need tobefore running to the next one. If the monster gets too close, use the Gravity Trapto slow it down.

Past the snowy pass is a cave where you can warm up. There’s a Fur Colossus inside that will need to be defeated before you can move on. Once it’s dead, look for a small crack to crawl through. It will take you to the far side of the red force field;shoot the three power sourceson the sides to shut it down and open a shortcut back to the last pillar.

How To Win The Second Fight With The Construct

Climb the ramp to the transit station, where the Construct is waiting for a rematch. The first part of the fight is thesame as the last, but the Construct is a little more skittish about going onto the ice. Try slowing it with the Gravity Trap when it’s in position.

After getting dunked about three times, the Construct will leap onto the machinery surrounding the arena.Shoot all the power sources underneath itwith VERA to trigger an explosion. Be quick, since it moves from location to location with little time to pause. After the explosion, glowing nodes will appear on the Construct’s bodywhile it’s stunned. Shoot them repeatedly with VERA to deal heavy damage - continue this process until the boss is defeated.

Watch out for the drones that the Construct launches. These will self-destruct if they get near you. Shoot them down before this happens, and if you hear them beeping, dodge quickly.

Scan the dead Construct to receive the Chemical Atomizer, a shotgun that deals acidic damage. Use it tomelt the pipesblocking the way forward, then enter the building to complete the chapter.
