The end of Throné’s first chapter has some horrible revelations for the young thief - Mother and Father only care about how ready their Blacksnakes are to take over and run the show. This is why they pitted Throné against her companions and why Pirro had to try and kill her. Whew, rough start to anOctopath Traveler 2story, huh?

After resolving to find her ‘parents’ and kill them to secure her freedom, Throné makes her way to Winterbloom, where Father told her to meet him. Will Throné be able to get the jump on this master of the craft? This section is a little more involved than Mother’s chapter two route.
Town Phase: Winterbloom
When Throné arrives in town, she thinks about her plan for a few moments, and then you’re given control. If this is your first time in Winterbloom, take a look around and hit the shops. You can find some nice weapons in the Weapon Shop, including aStinging Daggerfor Throné - grab these if you have the cash and need a power boost.
Your destination is the old tavern at the back of the Thieves' Quarter, which is to thenorth of the main areaof Winterbloom.Enter the tavernand witness the scene that plays out inside. After the cutscene,Ambush all three men with Throné’s Path Action. You may have to change the time to night.
You’ll learn that Father’s motivation for bringing you to Winterbloom is to take down the Snowhares, a rival thief group. After the scene, witness another to the right of the area, near the graves. Once that’s over, it’s time to take on the dungeon.
Pick up theEmpowering Lychee (M)from the chest in the graveyard if you don’t already have it!
Make sure you’re healed and stocked up and then goAmbush the guard in front of the Snowhares' Dento proceed. Descend the stairs in the back room to enter the dungeon.
Dungeon Phase: Snowhares' Den
This dungeon is a little bit maze-like - it’s quite easy to get to the end, but picking up the treasure is another task entirely.
From the chained woman, head southto find a chest that contains aHealing Grape (M). Take thepath to the right hereuntil you reach a bridge made of planks to the north.Take the bridgeand follow the path to another chest that contains anInspiriting Plum (M).
From that previous chest, head south and down the ladder that leads to a jetty. Sail southunderneath the stone bridgeand then to the right. The chest here contains aQuartz Dagger- this isn’t better than the Stinging Dagger that you can buy in Winterbloom, but it might be useful depending on how many party members can use Daggers.
Sail to the westnow, ignoring the bridge. The next chest you find has aShadow Soulstone (M).
Be careful when sailing -the monsters you fight in the water are a decent step tougher than those you fight on land. Don’t be afraid to flee. That said, they make for good grinding opportunities if you are low on levels.
Nowsail north and to the rightuntil you reach ahole in some railings- just below the hole, you’ll find asecret passage underneath what looks like another bridgeabove you. Use this path to reach the tantalizingly long ladder at the top of which you’ll find a red chest containing anEmpowering Bracelet. This accessory provides a hefty 500-point bonus to HP. If you have a tanky character who can use the Warrior’s taunting ability, this is a good accessory to use on them, otherwise, give it to a squishy mage like Osvald or Temenos.
Head back to the wooden planks you crossed earlier and take the path to the south this time. Save your game at the save point and move north to face the boss.

Bergomi is backed up by twoBergomi’s Lackeys, andwhile they are present, you cannot target any of Bergomi’s weaknesses. To this end, you’ll need to eliminate the Lackeys as soon as possible. If you have anyThunder or Light Soulstones, this is a good opportunity to use them to reduce their Break Points efficiently - Osvald or anyone with the Scholar sub job would also do a great job. Naturally, Throné’sHP Thiefwill also Break them quickly.
The Lackeys don’t have much HP, so it shouldn’t take long before you may start focusing on Bergomi. With weaknesses toSwords and Bows, it’s very easy to Break him if you have a Warrior or Hunter along for the ride -Aggressive Slashhits three times, and a boostedPrecise Shotcan take out his four Break Points in one attack.
Bergomi likes to employ manystatus ailments, like Poison and stat debuffs. Don’t worry too much about these, as they are alltemporary.
After dealing enough damage, Bergomi will useForbidden Pressure Point. This will give him apermanent all-stats-up buff, allow him toact twice a turn, and alsoreshuffle his weaknesses. In addition to that, his Break Point total is increased to eight. He’ll have more weaknesses now, though, so you shouldn’t find this too troubling.
Bergomi has some pretty tough attacks in this phase, including some that target the entire team. It’s useful to haveTemenos (or a Cleric, at least)around to provideparty-wide healing. Once Bergomi has two attacks per turn, you’ll want to stay healthy at all times - it’s very easy for Bergomi to eradicate a weakened party member.
Bergomi’s ultimate attack, signified by a purple aura, isn’t actually too dangerous. It’s anenfeebling dagger attack that deals a good chunk of damage and inflicts a ton of stat debuffs, but it’s single-target. Don’t panic about Breaking him if it would interrupt your setup, but do stay healthy.
After you beat Bergomi, the chapter will end after a few more scenes. Interestingly,it is possible for you to continue to pursue Father into Chapter 3even if you haven’t started the Mother route yet.
