Dave The Diver is a charming indie game that weds the serenity of diving with the chaos of a busy kitchen. As Dave, you will explore the depth of the Blue Hole, collect ingredients, and serve customers at your sushi shop.

to be successful in your dives, equipment is key. Scattered all around the ocean floor are helpful items that Dave can use to help him traverse difficult terrain, or get him out of sticky situations. This list will lay out the most helpful items you may find in the Blue Hole, and how to put each one to good use.

Dave The Diver is currently in early access. That means that it is almost certainly not in its final state, and big changes may be made before the final release.

Dave the Diver using a UV Light to repel tubeworms

9UV Light

TheUV Lightcan only be found in thedeepest recesses of the Blue Hole. Its only function in the game is toshine at Tubeworms to get them to recedeinto their casings. This will allow Dave topass through previously inaccessible tunnels.

The UV light is exclusive to this one area in the game, and can only be accessed once you have good enough equipment. As a result, this will probably be the least useful item that appears on this list. However, it is also one of only two guaranteed spawns in the game, as theyalways drop from crates near a Tubeworm area.

Dave The Diver Pickaxe

8Pickaxe

ThePickaxe is a very versatile toolto find. Not only can it be used as a melee weapon, but it can also be used in the depths on certain minerals. Theseminerals can only be mined with the Pickaxe equipped, and often serve as high-tier upgrade materials.

This is the only otherguaranteed spawnin the game, and theydrop from crates close by those mineral depositswe mentioned. Keep in mind that this piece of equipment isexclusive to the depths. This means you will have to wait until late in the game to get it.

Dave The Diver using an Underwater Scooter

7Underwater Scooter

TheUnderwater Scooteris a very useful item to have in Dave’s inventory. With this item equipped,Dave’s swift swim will be replaced by him using the Scooter. Not only does this make himmuch faster and more agile, but the swift swim will alsono longer consume oxygen.

This version of the Scooter can only be used forten secondsin total. Though the time it can be used is fleeting, it is a phenomenal utility tool. The increased speed can be very helpful for Dave toavoid predators or rush to the surfaceif oxygen is running low.

Dave The Diver Long-Distance Underwater Scooter

6Long-Distance Underwater Scooter

TheLong-Distance Underwater Scooteris just a superior version of its yellow cousin. It features thesame ability to replace Dave’s swift swimfor the duration that it lasts. That said, there are some interesting quirks with this item alongside its cool new paint job.

First, it is a much rarer find than the Underwater Scooter, at least in the shallow portions of the game. It seems todrop much more reliably in the depths. Additionally, the duration that it lasts jumps up to30 seconds, giving credence to its name.

Trigger Bomb Trap Dave the Diver

5Trigger Bomb Trap

Trigger Bombsare a very valuable find in theBlue Hole. Thesedepth chargescan be placed in an area, and they will float where they are placed. Then, when you see an opportune moment, you canmanually trigger them to explode.

You getthree Trigger Bombswhen you pick the item up.Each one deals 40 damage,so if you can lure a predator into all three it should result in a kill forall but the biggestsharks. Also note that you can deploy all three at the same time, but they will be triggered to explode in the order that you placed them.

4Sensor Bomb Trap

Sensor Bombscan be seen as an upgrade or a downgrade to Trigger Bombs depending on the scenario. The key difference between the two is thatSensor Bombs will explode whenever something gets too close. They cannot be manually triggered. It’s a…unique method of fishingto say the least.

This can be great for a fight with a shark in a wide-open area. However, Sensor Bombs have thechance to misfireon an unintended target, should a stray fish wander into the battleground. Theseset-and-forget traps are much quicker to arm and usethan Trigger Bombs but require a little more planning.

3Oxygen Capsule

Oxygen Capsulesare an invaluable resource when exploring theBlue Hole. They can be held in the inventory until needed. When that time comes you may pop one of these open and completely refill your oxygen reserves.

These items areone-time useand are consumed after that. With this in mind, if you have one in your inventory and find another, go ahead and use the first one. These items are amust-have for exploring caves or going on extended dives.

2O2 Barrel

TheBlue Holehas junk and garbage scattered all around the seafloor. In the case of O2 Barrels, one man’s trash is your treasure. These barrels are scattered all around the map and will refill your oxygen meter completelywhen you interact with them.

The barrels disappear after they are used until the next dive, but they can be used to save your life in a fight or to extend the length of your dive. Keep in mind thatas you get deeper, O2 Barrels will stop spawning.Instead, they will appear asgiant clams with the same effect.

1Ammo Box

What is one thingevery fishing game needs? That’s right guns.Dave the Diver features many weapons of fish destruction, but all of them have limited ammo pools. This is such a shame for weapons like theGrenade Launcher or Hush Dartwhich only have three shots in them.

However, if you have found a gun you love, and just can’t bear to part with after its ammo reserves run dry, fear not there is a solution for you.Ammo Boxes will randomly spawn on the seafloor.Interacting with one will completely refill the ammo of your equipped gun.
