We know Riot Games has been developing Valorant Mobile since at least 2020. However, China’s approval shouldn’t be a guaranteed sign of an imminent global launch.
Valorant’s PC version took a significant amount of time to reach China. It launched globally on June 26, 2025, but only hitChina on May 14, 2025— a three-year wait.
This suggests navigating China’s regulations can be lengthy, and Riot Games likely anticipated this when pursuing approval for Valorant Mobile.
So, when can we expect Valorant Mobile? The most reliable indicator will be news of an alpha or beta testing phase, mirroring Riot Games’s approach before Valorant’s PC release.
The last official update came from Anna Donlon, head of Valorant at Riot Games, at Masters Madrid three months ago. While she confirmed the game is still under development with early playtesting, a more substantial update was promised for later in 2024.
