Blue is one of the better colors found in theDigimon Card Game. With many powerful Option cards to remove bigger threats and smaller cards that can trouble your opponent by setting up powerful floodgates, blue is a deadly color to wield.

With many fan-favorite Digimon like Gabumon and Veemon, the color blue not only can compete at the highest levels but is also a great color to get started in the game. Although it seems like the color playstyle has been “solved,” it doesn’t detract from the fact that it is one of the most fun colors to play, thanks to its endless amount of possibilities when it comes to deck building.

10Syakomon

Syakomon is one of many floodgates available in the color blue. This card prevents your opponent from reducing their Digivolution costs blocking them from activating the effects of cards like Nokia Shiramine or Deltamon.

Even though Syakomon is one of the three cards that can apply this effect, it feels much better in blue, paired with powerful floodgates like Ice Wall and other source-stripping cards like Howling Memory Boost. Not only is Syakomon a good card to play to pass the turn over, but it is also a Rookie, meaning it can be used to Digivolve on top of your Digi Egg in a pinch.

9Kaiser Nail

Kaiser Nail feels like an interesting choice, especially since you would have to have cards in your sources with On Play effects to maximize its value, but with such a versatile effect, this card becomes a must-own for any Tamer.

Kaiser Nail works perfectly with the Seadramon deck, whose entire game plan is to make big stacks with Digimon with On Play effects that can later be played out from the sources. Kaiser Nail is another avenue for this effect. You can get extremely creative with this card, but playing in decks like Machinedramon or even EX-03’s Dragon Links, where every Digimon has an On Play effect waiting to be activated by Kaiser Nail.

8Gabumon

Gabumon, being a fan-favorite Digimon, only makes sense to have a good card of the cute little blue furry monster. There are many Gabumon cards in the game, but none as generic as this staple from the first set.

There is a reason why Pot Of Greed andother powerful staplesare such good cards in theYu-Gi-Oh!card game. This Gabumon’s On Play effect allows you to draw two cards. Some might even argue that this Gabumon is even stronger than Pot Of Greed: it does the same, but on a body that can attack if needed. Digimon Card Game works very differently than Yu-Gi-Oh!, so you shouldn’t worry about Bandai banning Gabumon any time soon.

7Veemon

This Veemon is one of the best Rookies in the game, hands down. As one of the series’s favorite Digimon and the protagonist of Digimon Adventure 02, Veemon’s Jamming keyword allows you to play an aggressive game that requires an answer from the opponent immediately.

This Veemon card, combined with cards like DemiVeemon for extra draws or even the Armor Form package, make this card a powerful piece to a strong engine that can even be used in a different colored deck that can benefit from early aggressive plays.

6Cocytus Breath

There are many cards that you can use to remove problematic cards off the board, but no one card does it like Cocytus Breath. A card that can dodge most protection effects by returning to hand rather than just deleting the Digimon, Cocytus Breath is an important card to use whenever playing perky decks whose stacks tend to stick around for a while.

Cocytus Breath is one of the best removal Options in the game due since it does not have a level limit or threshold. As long as the Digimon is affected by card effects, it can be removed with this card.

5Davis Motomiya

You can argue that searcher cards are tied with memory setter cards for some of the most important cards in the Digimon Card Game, so why not put both effects in one card? That card is Davis Motomiya.

On paper, this card is way too good. Davis searches for a blue AND a green card, and still sets your memory at three at the start of your turn. So, not only are you guaranteed memory every turn, but if you play decks like Imperialdramon, Davis could fetch you two cards for the cost of four memory.

4Hammer Spark

As consistent as blue decks are, every deck could use more memory. Hammer Spark is one of the best cards to do this. A simple effect that gets you an extra memory when you activate it, Hammer Spark’s effect, while not mandatory to play in every deck, is helpful in every situation.

Another boon that Hammer Spark offers is its Security effect. If checked in Security, this card becomes even more powerful by gaining two memory instead of one, and since Security is checked during your opponent’s turn, it means that hitting this card could possibly pass the turn back over to you.

3ModokiBetamon

If Syakomon is a good Memory floodgate card, then ModokiBetamon is the best. With many memory-gaining effects in the game through Digimon effects or Option cards, like the Memory Boost series of cards, ModokiBetamon is one of the best Rookies to use to prevent your opponent from extending their plays.

Effects like Cool Boy, T.K., and Kari will still activate, since ModokiBetamon can only block memory gain through non-Tamer effects, but that doesn’t mean ModokiBetamon is bad. It’s quite the opposite, especially after accounting for the fact that not a lot of the decks out there have easy access to small Digimon removal outside the color red.

2Blue Memory Boost!

Memory Boosts are some of the best cards in the game, bar none. Generic cards that can search any Digimon within that color will always be welcome in any deck. Not only does Blue Memory Boost increase the already high level of consistency of blue, but it leaves you with two extra memory whenever you need that extra boost.

Blue Memory Boost is such an amazing card and most of the time it is mandatory to play this in any blue deck to help see your pieces faster. Having a playset of the Blue Memory Boost is a must due to how versatile this card is.

1Ice Wall!

There is a reason why Ice Wall! is restricted to one copy on Bandai’s Restricted and Banned List. This card is one of the best cards for any defensive plays that blue can employ. With a blanket effect to make your opponent’s Digimon lose two memory with every attack, you can freeze your opponent’s plays for a turn to either let you catch up or even push your advantage even further.

Just like Hammer Spark, Ice Wall’s Security effect is to gain two memory, giving you even more chances to stop your opponent, even on their turn.
