As one of the first colors introduced in theDigimon Card Game, Red is one of the most basic colors to pilot. Not to say that it is easy to do so, but most of the decks found in the color tend to fixate on the same game plan: attack, attack, and a little more attack.

Decks like AncientGreymon and WarGreymon X can easily wipe out your opponent’s Security stack in the blink of an eye without even being able to have any counter play. Although these decks can be quite fast, they can also take a bit to get going with their lack of search and draw.

10Agunimon

While every main color has a Hybrid-style card, it is especially good in aggro-oriented decks that can wipe all of your opponent’s Security in one fell swoop like Red. Hybrid cards can Digivolve on top of a Tamer card instead of a level three Digimon, letting you sneak in one extra hit if you have a Tamer on standby.

Not only are Hybrid cards like Agunimon great for extra aggression when it’s needed, but it can evolve as a regular level four, just in case you don’t find another four to continue building up your stack.

9A Delicate Plan

Many Red decks' strategy is to make a big stack of Digimon and kill your opponent as quickly and easily as possible. With Digimon Card Game’s Security mechanic, defeating your opponent can come down to a game of luck. A powerfull Option in their Security like Gaia Force or Cocytus Breath might ruin your plans.

With a card like A Delicate Plan, your attacks will not activate Security effects of any Option cards it checks. Decks like WarGreymon X have ADP’s effect built into their stack, but for decks that don’t, ADP is the best card around.

8Atomic Blaster

Besides powerful attacks to kill your opponent in one turn, Red is also known for their hard removal Option cards. Cards like Atomic Blaster are helpful to clear any wide board, especially when their board is made up mostly of Rookies like D-Bridgate and other decks that love to swarm the board.

Atomic Blaster is quite versatile. It can delete many Rookies, but its effect reads that you may delete as many Digimon whose DP adds up to 8,000. That means you can probably remove that perky Champion Blocker that’s giving you trouble.

7Crimson Blaze

It can be argued that Crimson Blaze is a better version of Atomic Blaster. While Atomic Blaster technically has a higher DP threshold than this card, Crimson Blaze can delete all off their Digimon that are 6,000 DP or less.

This card is also cheaper to play. On raw cost alone, Crimson Blaze is one memory more than Atomic Blaster, but the first effect on this card says that you can reduce its cost by one for every Digimon that your opponent controls. Since you’ll always be playing this card while there is at least one Digimon in play, you can just pretend that it costs five.

6Fire Ball

Sometimes, your opponent will have pesky floodgate Rookies that will prevent you from continuing your plays. It never feels good wasting a cost-heavy Option to get rid of it. Luckily, Fire Ball is your best friend in those situations.

Not only can Fire Ball remove any small Digimon in your way, but it’s never a dead card in hand since, if there is no target for its deletion effect, this card can draw you two more cards.

5Gaia Force

The golden standard of removal Options. Gaia Force simple effect of removing any one of your opponent’s Digimon is understated, to say the least. It comes with a heavy cost at eight memory, but sometimes that price might be worth it, especially if there is a stack that is impeding your attacks from going through.

Sadly, the meta has advanced far enough for most decks to not need Gaia Force, but some decks like Gammamon might benefit from a way to remove just about anything.

4Hiro Amanokawa

Tamers are not the most important piece to any Red decks' strategy, but a few of them like Hiro Amanokawa, help the decks excel at what they do best. Once Hiro is suspended, your level five or higher Digimon will gain 2,000 DP.

It may not seem that high of a boost, but when attacking with a Digimon with 12,000 DP, an average attack stat of most Mega-level Digimon, a small boost like Hiro’s might help you clear that Security check easily.

3Greymon

With many level four Digimon nowadays having powerful When Digivolving effects, Greymon, found in one of the best starter decks, might not seem all that great. Its simplicity is what makes this card so powerful.

This version of the fan-favorite Digimon is a standard two cost to evolve, and it can give you one of the most powerful inheritable effects in the game. Greymon gives your stack an extra Security check. It may not look as strong, but its generic out-of-archetype inheritable makes this card easy to splash in any aggressive Red deck in the game.

2Red Memory Boost!

Like every other color, Red decks have the thing they do best and a thing they are the absolute worst at. Red decks in the Digimon Card Game are not usually the most consistent. Most of the popular Red decks are quite top-end heavy, so they tend to brick more than anything.

Red Memory Boost is one of the best cards to get you out of that pickle. Even though it can only search for a Red Digimon, this card can help you unclog those disgusting hands filled with level five Digimon.

1Tai Kamiya

If aggression is what Red decks do best, then Tai Kamiya is the best Tamer for the job. Red decks don’t tend to be cheap on memory, so Tai Kamiya’s ability to set your memory to three every turn can help you climb up to that Mega, still keep your turn going, and check an extra Security while you’re at it.

When played in decks like Dorbickmon and WarGreymon X, Tai Kamiya can push through that extra Security to win you the game.
