Shieldmaiden: Remix Edition gives you no time to play catch up. Asta is racing against the clock to search for her missing sister from the source of where the nightmare, otherwise known as the Cataclysm dome, started. The obstacles and enemies in your way are tough; however, they are just fodder compared to the area bosses.

All of them are out for the artifact, the one thing that’s keeping you alive, so you can’t hand it over. Each of these dreadful machines you’ll have to face on your way has its strengths and weaknesses, but some are easier to overcome than others. Which bosses are the best to fight?
7The Immortal
The simple factthat this so-called Immortal can heal himselfis enough reason to throw this guy into the back of the line. Being a mini-boss out to retrieve an artifact at all costs is par for the course; it’d be almost rude if they weren’t trying as hard as they could to get you.
However, healing between your attacks is a step too far and automatically places it at the lowest spot on the list. Nothing personal, that just means the shell of wires is in your way that much longer. He adds nothing to the fight aside from healing himself, which prolongs the fight unnecessarily. It doesn’t take long for his name to become a misnomer.
6The Crow
As soon as you lay your eyes on him, you know The Crow is all business. When you meet him, he is a stark contrast to the greens and browns of the forestin his sleek, black suit. There aren’t many words spoken between the two of you before you clash because all that matters to him is getting that bracelet from your possession.
His fighting style also reflects his methodical and deadly nature. One attack has him striking down on you from the treetops with stealth, while another is a giant beam of light that takes up one-third of the screen. As you are fighting him, something about the way he moves feels like he’s holding back, which is a little underwhelming, and he knows this. The Crow all but confirms it as he flies off into the distance.
5The Warden
The Warden has the unfortunate curse of beingthe first boss in a line-upof amazingly designed and somewhat terrifying bosses hell-bent on getting the artifact away from you at all costs. Whatever the half tree half machine hybrid had before the invasion is long gone and it has no real directive other than attack anything that moves.

His attack pattern is also on the easier side, so long as you can avoid his many, manyfloor flower lasers that grow from the ground. His biomechanical design is great though, showcasing just how deep the robot invasion infiltrated the world, down to its roots.
4The Other Crow
Mundane name aside, The Other Crow does not mess around and is significantly stronger than their earlier counterpart. Both Crows follow similar attack patterns and moves, but where the first Crow was methodical and precise, the Other Crow takes it in a more chaotic direction.
The Other Crow’s melee stealth attack also comes with its projectiles, without even beginning to care if you know where he’s hiding.Other Crow will also run directly at you while swinging his arms (wings?) wildly in your direction, making his fight a little more unpredictable and exciting. Though you survive the fight, the true face-off is far from over.
3The Fallen
The Fallen is what most humans think of whendiscussing A.I. becoming sentient weapons in both artillery and intellect. It outsmarts Asta and tricks her into believing her missing sister is calling out for help in pain just to lead you to your own pain.

Mechanically, The Fallen is a callback nod to the classic Mega Man series. Its design is deceptively simple and attempts to lure you into a false sense of confidence before trying to delete you with its quick and chaotic attacks. The knife attacks alone seem to manifest from anywhere on the stage.
2The Master
Already beaten by you, the two Crows you face off against have no choice but to ask for help. The Crows disappear and enter a hulking, angelic-like entity that stands stories above Asta complete with wings and a halo that defies its monstrous attacks. It is relentless and will send anything, including its head, flying your way just to take your bracelet.
The fight is fun and challenging, and the only thing that prevents this entry from getting the top spot is there’s no buildup to it. You’re just hit with the big bad after learning of his existence mere seconds ago. It feels like a larger stepping stone in your way and not much else.
1Hugh And Manning
After chasing you down and tricking you into going inside the cataclysm dome, only then do the Crows properly introduce themselves. Grateful that you’ve given them the freedom to leave by defeating The Master, they still demand the artifact from you to escape the doomed planet and become Gods.
Being that they’re the reason your home is destroyed, Asta is not down with that plan,so the final fight ensues. The reason this ranks higher on the list than, say The Master is because it’s been a long time coming; they’ve been at your neck through the entire game, giving the game a more satisfying end. You’re finally reaching the final battle, and it’s as rewarding as you’d imagine, adding elements that’ll challenge you while still being rewarding.
