The future ofHyper Gunsporthas banned guns and all weaponry for anything except the world’s favorite game: Gunsport. Now any and all disputes are settled on the Gunsport court with bragging rights, trade routes, and the moon up for grabs. Though the sport sounds violentand weird, it’s instead more like volleyball mixed with skeet shooting and with three traffic light-colored goals to round it out.

Since anyone can play the sport and even do it well, the competitors range from Russian cyborgs to street punks to an older married couple from Cambodia. They all have their reasons to win, and they’ve brought specialized weaponry onto the court to do it.
7United Worker’s Socialist Democracy
What was previously called Russia is now the UWSD and their team is on the court, so the country can build a base on the moon. What kind of base exactly is unknown, but Viktor and Lev are stoically competing for the people and for love.
The two players are quiet, non-nonsense athletes with cybernetic enhancements and a love for beets. Viktor wields a fireball cannon for his special attack and Lev has a heavy laser for sniper shots. These specials can be unwieldy for the new player, but an expert could surely use this weaponry for amazing trick shots.
6People’s Republic Of Oakland
A debut team from a sovereign city hoping to gain the world’s respect and some commerce deals. The goalkeeper, Issa Heron, played semi-pro for Re-United States until she returned to the P.R.O to play alongside the chipper Bonnie Parrish. Bonnie’s the team’s striker and a complete greenhorn with only six months of training under her belt.
Can they secure the Mexican trade route or will the Congo champions take another win? The team’s special attacks include a short-range blue bubble that floats around as a makeshift shield for the striker, and three shots of a bouncing bubblegum-colored ball for the keeper.
5Neo Tokyo
The hot-headed, rockabilly striker Saburo and his keeper Onuki make up the Japanese Gunsports team. The white and red are a respected team with weapons made by master craftspeople. Saburo’s special attack is an energy blaster that can rapidly fire or charge up, but sadly it’s a little underwhelming. On the other hand, Onuki’s special is stellar. It is an extended shotgun blast that works wonders for blocking the ball and denying goals.

In their circuit mode storyline, they’re competing against the UWSD for rights to build on the moon; so that Japan can build Gunsport weaponry and tools in zero-gravity that is.
4New Republic of Congo
A strong team and the favorite to win, Rapha and Jupiter are running the Gunsports circuit contending for the rights to a trade route with Mexico. Oakland is also gunning for the trade route, but the Congo team is not concerned. Snooty and refined, they spend most of their time off-court sipping tea and considering their outfits.
Their story is certainly the least dramatic, but their special attacks are not at all what you’d expect. As the striker, Jupiter’s special is a yo-yo shot that allows for excellent zone control and Rapha’s special is the game’s fastest shooting gun, an assault rifle. So they may not be the most lively of competitors, but on the court, they sure can shoot.
3Blue Cambodia
The oldest players on the Gunsports circuit are the husband and wife team Savoeun and Nary from Blue Cambodia. They’re old pros in their late forties, but they haven’t retired because they’ve got something to prove. That anyone can be a Gunsports superstar, whether old or young, and all without any cybernetics. The chances are 457 to one against them, so they’reunderdogsthrough and through.

That said, their specials give them a fighting chance. Savoeun’s twin arrows arc down, giving you a way to get behind the net and spike the ball. Nary’s special consists of missiles that can be detonated by hand for that extra push.
2La Ciudad
La Ciudad or the scrapyard squad can be unlocked by beating the single-player circuits for the other teams. They’re troublemakers that snuck into the Gunsports tournament with borrowed IDs and a cocky attitude.
Here to “cause chaos and shove it in Oakland’s face”, their striker NoMercy Parrish wants to show up her sister Bonnie from the Oakland team. She’s also the only melee character in the game, swinging a baseball bat instead of shooting a gun. Her special attack is four high-power laser bat swings, while her teammate fires a chain that stretches across the entire court and can block the ball in the process.
1Practicebots Alliance
The newly formed Practicebots Alliance really just consists of twocute robots. These robots have gained sentience only recently and have decided to make their claim by turning the tables and competing in the International Gunsports circuit. Their special attacks are completely random. So you can use any of the other team’s special attacks, only you can’t predict which one.
For chaos or a challenge, these bot buddies are the perfect pick, but you’ll have to complete the single-player circuits for all the teams, even La Cuidad, before you’re able to play as these athletic automatons.
