Destiny 2: Lightfallhas dozens of new weapons for Guardians to chase, some of which are returning fan-favorites. If you loved using Nameless Midnight or Trust in previous years, they’re back and stronger than ever. And as you’d expect from a new expansion, tons of new weapons are available from this season’s new activities and Neomuna itself.

Today, we’ll be cover every new weapon that has been added to the loot pool, covering all new weapons added in Lightfall and Season of Defiance. Legacy Focusing has also brought back a ton of fan-favorites, although we’ve excluded these from this article since they don’t technically drop from loot sources. Here is every new weapon you can find in Destiny 2: Lightfall.
Updated July 28, 2025, by Charles Burgar:With the release of Root of Nightmares, all weapons tied to the Lightfall expansion are now obtainable. We’ve updated this guide to include the Vexcalibur Exotic tied to Season of Defiance, and we’ve added all Root of Nightmares weapons into this article. New Exotic Weapons
Lightfall has six new Exotic weapons for players to chase, Verglas Curve and Vexcalibur being tied to Season of Defiance. We’ll update this guide once it’s available. For now, here’s every Exotic weapon you may earn this season.
Exotic Perk
Hail Barrage:Final blows with this weapon grant Stasis arrows.
Your next hip-fire shot will fire all Stasis arrows in a single volley.
Trait
Hail Storm:Stasis arrows freeze targets on contact and create Stasis crystals when affecting the environment.
M1R Distribution Matrix:Fires a spread. Equipped with a quick-draining shield.
Blocking damage with your shield gradually bestows Void Overshields to yourself and nearby allies.
Perpetual Loophole:Deal additional melee damage while protected by an overshield. Defeating targets with melee final blows while the overshield is active will refresh it.
Strand
All At Once:Holding down the trigger marks targets within range and loads multiple bullets, which fire in a burst with increased stability on trigger release.
Hitting a marked target with a fully charged burst will unravel them.
Pick your Poison:Hipfire projectiles will track marked targets, dealing increased body shot damage. Aimed projectiles have greatly increased velocity and deal extra critical damage.
Stasis
Big Frigid Glaive:Fires a large ball of energy that locks onto nearby targets and freezes them.
Tilting at Windmills:Blocking damage with your shield increases movement speed while shielding.
Void
Heavy Metal:While holding down the trigger, every fourth bullet becomes a heavy projectile that weakens targets on impact.
Vexadecimal:While holding down the trigger, every fourth Heavy Metal projectile also makes targets Volatile on impact.
Stasis and Solar (Kinetic Slot)
Split Decision:Dual barrels split into Stasis and Solar damage.
Paracasual Pellets:Landing nearly all Stasis pellets will freeze targets; landing nearly all Solar pellets will ignite targets.

Season Of Defiance Gear
Season of Defiance has six weapons for Guardians to chase, most of which drop from the Defiant Battlegrounds playlist. Two seasonal weapons, Royal Executioner and Raconteur, drop from the Season Pass and core activity completions. The Season Pass Exotic isVerglas Curve, a Stasis Bow thatfires Stasis crystals. See the previous section for information on that Exotic.

Neomuna Weapons
Neomuna has eight weapons for Guardians to uncover, all of which drop from Neptune world content. All Neomuna weapons have a new Origin Trait calledNanotech Tracer Rounds. Landing multiple hits turns your next shot into a homing micro-rocket.
Root Of Nightmares Raid Gear
Root of Nightmaresis a six-player raid tied to the Lightfall expansion. As with all other raids in Destiny 2, this activity features six new Legendary weapons and an Exotic weapon. The Exotic added isConditional Finality, a double-barreled Shotgun that deals Stasis and Solar damage. Check out our Exotic section for a perk breakdown on that weapon.

Loot Pool Additions
Bungie has added Legacy Focusing to all ritual vendors, allowing you to purchase any weapon from any season of Destiny 2. All weapons added to thisLegacy Focusing systemhave had their perk pools refreshed. Covering all of them is beyond the scope of this guide; visitlight.ggto check out refreshed perk pools for these reprised weapons.
Season of Defiance has added a new weapon to each ritual activity, two refreshed weapons in time-limited endgame activities, and six new weapons in the general drop pool. Let’s go over each new addition.
Season Of Defiance Ritual Weapon
Season of Defiance’s ritual weapon isEcliptic Distaff, an Adaptive Glaive that deals Void damage.This weapon can use the new Replenishing Aegis perk in the first perk column, causing the Glaive to partially reload upon blocking incoming damage. The second column can choose between the fantastic Close to Melee perk and the new Destabilizing Rounds perk, inflicting Volatile on nearby targets upon killing an enemy. This weapon can be obtained by reaching Rank 16 with any of the ritual vendors—Zavala, Shaxx, or the Drifter.
