When you awaken a Zodiac weapon, it enters a new “stage” which upgrades their name,stats, color, appearance and particle effects. These stages are as follows:

To get a Zodiac Weapon, talk to Nedrick Ironheart (X:12.0, Y:14.3) in Vesper Bay to get the “The Weaponsmith of Legend” quest. Completing the quest unlocks the next part of the chain“A Relic Reborn”, which rewards the base FFXIV Zodiac weapon of the job you’re playing as.
