Material farming is an inescapable part ofGenshin Impact, HoYoverse’s hit online RPG.
As travelers continue to add more characters to their playable roster, they’ll also have to stock up on experience materials, also known as XP books.
These books allow players to instantly upgrade their characters to the max level of 90.
However, collecting these books for a single unit is quite the grind.
To help you out, here’s a quick breakdown of how many books you need to reach level 90 and the easiest way to farm these materials.

While you can earn XP points by completing quests and fighting monsters, the fastest way for characters to level up is by using the books.
It takes a total of 8,362,650 points to reach the max level of 90. This roughly equates to 421 Hero’s Wits, the highest tier of books in the game.
The lower-tier items, Wanderer’s Advice (Green) and Adventurer’s Experience (Blue), only provide 1,000 and 5,000 points respectively. A single Hero’s Wit provides 20,000 points.
It’s also important to note that the later levels cost significantly more books. StreamerMichael “Mtashed” Tashsaid that you can save 28 Hero’s Wits if you keep your DPS character at 89. After all, DPS units only receive four more Attack points at the max level.
The best characters to bring to 90 are support units that use HP and Defense since their main stats get a more significant bump. Anemo characters are also worth the final level up because Swirl damage also scales with a character’s level.
The easiest way to farm XP books in Genshin Impact
The easiest way to farm these materials is through Blossoms of Revelation, marked by a light blue sphere in your overworld map. These become available once you reach AR 12.
While the lower tiers of Wanderer’s Advice and Adventurer’s Experience are available right away, Hero’s Wits only enter the loot pool when you’ve cleared Ascension Quest 2 and upgraded to World Level 4.
As you continue to increase your World Level, the number of Hero’s Wits found in the Blossom also increases. World Level 6 is the best option for farming since the enemies are capped at level 78.
All you have to do is interact with the Blossom and eliminate the opponents in the surrounding area. Once cleared, you can interact with the Blossom again and exchange 20 Resin to claim the books.
You can also offer Condensed Resin, a craftable variant that costs 40 Resin, to the Blossom for double the number of books rewarded.
