Best Equipment To Fight Dreadclaw

Due to its Wind attribute, theYoung Samurai armor setwill provide the best defense against the Dreadclaw’s attacks. This armor set has high Wind defense, which willreduce the damage of the Kemono’s most powerful attacks.

A Fire attribute weapon will work the best, but Wood, Water, and Earth are all good options too. Additionally, Slash-type weapons, like theKatanaandNodachi, will deal the most damage, but Pummel and Lunge weapons will have no problems keeping up, either.

Dreadclaw - Fight Breakdown And Moves

The Dreadclaw is afast and aggressiveKemono that will keep attacking after it catches you off guard, leaving little room to regain your footing. However, if you can escape its onslaught of attacks, the Dreadclaw hasseveral openings that can be exploited.

The Dreadclaw’s most common attack is its claw lunge. The Kemono will jump into the air slightly beforediving toward you, with its claws bared. It will thenrepeat this attack again, repositioning to target you again. However,if the second attack misses, the Dreadclaw will tumble to the ground, making itself open to attacks.

An equally common attack, although far less deadly, is its triple peck. The Dreadclaw willpeck at the ground to its front three times in a row, moving forward slightly with each attack. If you canget behind the Kemono during this move, you are free to counterattack for a second while the animation finishes.

Throughout the fight, the Dreadclaw willhover for a moment before ground-pounding the area directly underneath it. This attack can deal high damage, but leaves asizable opening if you are able to dodge it, either by rolling or jumping into the air with a Crate Karakuri at the same time the Dreadclaw pounds the ground.

One of the Dreadclaw’s most devastating attacks is itssonic blast. With little warning, the Dreadclaw will unleash asonic shockwave from its mouth, instantly blasting an area in astraight line to its front. This attack is difficult to see coming, but since the Dreadclaw has other frontal-based attacks, it’sbest to avoid standing directly in front of it anyway.

When enraged, the Dreadclaw will be even more dangerous. Itswings will increase in size and glow slightly, and its attacks willhit harder and come out faster. The main difference in this phase is that the Dreadclaw willconstantly fly into the air and fire waves of pellets at youfrom above. The Dreadclaw will remain in the air for a while, attacking in this manner orlunging at you with its head. However, using theFirework Karakuri, created by placingthree Torches in a column, you canknock the Dreadclaw out of the sky, creating a large opening for you to attack.
