In this guide, we are going to go over how you can start building, as well as some basics to keep in mind while creating your structures. First, let’s go over how to unlock the ability to build, so you can make your very first house.

How To Unlock Building
Unlocking the ability to build is actually quite simple;you will first need to complete the tutorial section of the game.This includes taking your mom to the cave area and making your way to Ed’s farm. Once at Ed’s farm, he will give you a few quests that serve as a tutorial, with one of them being to craft a hammer.
With the hammer crafted, you can instantly start building.
How To Build
With a hammer in hand, it’s time to make your first building. The first step is to hold the hammer and press ‘B’.This will open a building menu where you cannavigate to ‘City’ and then ‘Floor’.Only one floor option will be available for you to place at first,which is the 5x6 size.
When the floor is selected,a transparent green floor will appear; you can rotate this and place it wherever you want.After finding a spot that you like, click to place it.
Once placed, head to the floor and hit it with your hammer.Doing so will cause the frame to be built. you may now approach each section of the wall andhit it with your hammer to add the materials.
While facing a section of the wall, you’re able to press ‘B’ again.This will bring up a circle menu with materials and style.A building will need at least one door, soselect ‘Wood’ and then the door option while looking at the portion of the wall that you want the door to be on.To finish off your building, aim your hammer at the roof. Although you can’t reach it, the hammer swing will count towards the roof completion.
At first, building can be a bit frustrating.When in doubt, hit the wall with your hammer!
Placing Furniture
Furniture can be placed inside your house as well.From the crafting menu (open by pressing ‘I’), you’re able to select the furniture option and craft furniture.After a piece of furniture has been crafted,head inside your house and press ‘B’.
This will open your furniture inventory, allowing you to place furniture inside. Later, you can also buy furniture for your house.
