SpongeBob’s signature outfit throughout the SpongeBob SquarePants series is the white shirt, red tie, and brown pants combination. Yet, he has been known to don many different attires over the years to fit the situation. And many of those costumes, along with some new ones, feature inSpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. In fact, they were part of the marketing of the title.

While making your way through the adventure, you will be given a different outfit for every world. However, they aren’t the only costumes in the game. There are also several others you can wear. This is how to unlock and equip them.
How To Equip Different Costumes
Early in the adventure, the game tells you about costumes. Yet, it doesn’t inform you how to switch to a different one. Instead, Kassandra just puts you in a new getup before you travel through a portal. And the game makes it seem like you have to stick to the costume designed for that world. This is not the case, asonce you go through the portal, you’re free to equip another outfit.
You do so bygoing into the pause menuand flicking over tothe costumes shop tab. From there, you’re able to freelyselect a getupfrom the ones you’ve unlocked.
How To Unlock Different Costumes
Not only can you equip outfits from the costumes menu, but you canalso unlock them from there, too. The ones in thecampaign section will unlock automaticallyas you play through the adventure.
Theother ones are separated into tiers. And you may notice thatbeside each tier is a gold coin with a numbernext to it. This indicateshow many coins you need to unlock that specific tier.
It isn’t a voluntary unlocking, though.As soon as you get enough coins for a tier, the game will automatically unlock itand take away your in-game money. While it’s a bit odd, the system makes sense considering you can’t spend the coins on anything else.
You can find gold coins hidden around every world.
It’s important to know thatwhen a tier unlocks, you don’t automatically receive the outfitswithin it. Instead, they simplybecome available for you to purchase with the jellyyou’ve accumulated during your travels.
To do so,simply hover over them and hit the purchase button(indicated at the bottom of the screen).
