At the end of each area, you’ll come across a blockade. Blockades mean the roads have various debris, preventing your car from reaching the next area. Since you’ll want your car with you, you’ll wonder how you can get past the blockade, so ensure you go through a guide and see how you can get across safely.
Preparing For A Blockade
Since you’llfind the barricade at the end of each area, you have time to prepare for it. Ensure you think about your situation and get everything necessary to overcome the barrier, so you’ll continue your game.
Focus On Weapons
As you make your way toward a blockade, you shouldgrab as many weapons as possible. Since enemies have a set amount of health, you don’t need to use fancy weapons against them. For example, hitting an enemy with a steel pipe will kill a small enemy in a single hit, but so will a branch. You should collect somebottles for ranged attacks.
While you’ll want to collect weapons, you shouldsee if one of your teammates can bring a shield.
Doing so will allow them to absorb a hit or two from a bug, so they’ll survive while allowing you to clear a path.
Have A First-Aid Kit On The Car
As you go through the blockade, you shouldkeep someone relatively close to your car, so they can grab the first-aid kitand use it on an injured party member. However, you don’t always want to have a first-aid kit with your characters sinceyou need space to pick up itemsand use them as needed. On top of that, you may come across more first-aid kits as you search vehicles, so you could use any you find in the field.
If you ever run low on medical supplies, you shouldlook for pharmacies on the map.
Doing so will increase your odds of finding multiple kits, so you can heal your teammates or prepare for the barrier.
Avoid A Damaged Car
If you crash an already damaged car, you couldlose the car, some items, and even your teammates. Always replace the car before you reach the blockade.Go up to a vehicle and examine itto see if it’s been damaged or works fine. If it does and has the features you want from a vehicle, you can switch to it in preparation for the blockade.
While you may get past a blockade in a beaten-up vehicle, you should get a better one in case you must ram it.
Assign Your Party Members Roles
You’ll want toassign your party members different rolesto help you navigate the barricades. You should aim forthree party members minimumand tackle the following responsibilities.
Ideally, you’ll want a dog in your partyto fight enemies. Sincethey have a bite attack, the dog can focus on taking out enemies every turn. If possible, you shouldequip the fighter with a shieldto defend themselves from enemy attacks.
As for the car, you should have someonemoving it forwardand helping fend off enemies as needed. Some people may want to hold off on moving their vehicles until they completely free a path. However, doing so couldcause your car to become blocked by the bugs, so keep inching forward while leaving some space to move around it.
You should also dedicate someone to moving around the barricade. They should have a weaponon them to attack enemies as needed. They can alsouse their weapon to hit wooden structures, so you’re able to drive past them. Ensure they have space to roll objects and create a path as needed.
If you have a fourth party member, have them collect supplies and scavenge items. They can then assist with fighting or moving objects based on their positioning.
A fifth party member shouldtransport items between characterswhile helping out with the barricade. They should alsorevive any teammates who get knocked out.
Focus On Speed
The longer the process takes, the more danger you put your characters in. Bugs will spawn and keep moving toward your party members the longer the battle goes on. Yes, you may attack them to make space, butthey’ll eventually spawn faster than you can kill them. As such, you should focus on moving the barricade as quickly as possible.
However, you shouldn’t sacrifice strategy for speed. Ensure you plan out your moves and maximize your turns, so you’ll end up saving time. The game doesn’t have a time limit for how long you spend on a turn, so focus on moving as efficiently as possible.
If possible, tackle the barriers firstand try to defeat larger enemies away from the roads.
Doing so will prevent their corpses from blocking the way. However, smaller enemies will disappear from the field, so they won’t add to the barrier.

Look For Additional Weapons
Even though you can bring multiple-hit weapons to the barricade, you may not have enough weapons to cover your needs. Luckily, these areas usually include additional weaponsyou can pick up and use. While they’ll mostly be sticks and bottles, you can use them to inflict significant damage on an enemy.
You shouldn’t prioritize collecting weapons and should avoid running to them. Doing so could cause you to turn your attention away from the primary task and get you swarmed.
Focus instead onusing the weapons you have, refilling your inventory when possible, and doing your best to keep everyone alive and getting them out of there. As for the character focused on combat, you’re able to have themstand near the weapons and draw attention to the enemies so thatthe bugs will approach them. That way, your fighter can easily refill their inventory and keep fighting until you leave the area.
