Calicois a relatively short game, but there are many tasks that will have you exploring new biomes and going on treasure hunts for more cute animals. There are a series of main quests that involve unblocking access to all corners of the island, so that all villagers may mingle together once again. Side quests involve these villagers' personal troubles, all of which will be detailed in this guide.

One way to check how many quests you have left is by opening your Townspeople menu. This page lists all the villagers you have found, along with some hearts under their names.If all the villager’s hearts are red, you have completed every quest.If some remain empty, there are some quests you have yet to complete. There is anachievement for completing every questin the game.
Quests will reward you withnumerous different Designsthat you’re able to use to decorate food like cupcakes or to use with the wallpaper in the cafe.
Some questsreward you with recipesthat can alternatively be bought fromEstelle’s or Oliver’s in Heart Village.
Main Quest
The main quest starts with Mayor Kiva showing you the basics of designing and controlling your own cat cafe. The quests will then need to be initiated by different villagers, which will be detailed in the table below. Following the main quest involves finding a way to open the entrance to every biome or area on the map.
Detail
Getting Started - Kiva
When Kiva asks for your preferred style, this gives you access tothree furniture items of this themein order to decorate for this quest.Decorate the cafe and return to Kiva.(you may change the color scheme of each furniture item. If you have two flower chairs, they will both remain the color you pick and cannot be two different color schemes.)
Pick up the cat in front of the cafe, hold it out and instruct it to go to the cafe. The kitchen is at the back of the building. If you have a hard time with the cooking mini-games, simply select Finish It For Me.
Now you must explore andintroduce yourself to every villager.
The Path To The Mountains - Maia
Maia is in the treehouse across from your cafe. Speaking to her initiates the task of finding Autumn to unlock access to Snowbell Mountains.Autumn is located to the West of the cafe, past the river and up the hill.
Char, the black cat, is walking around Maribel and Estelle’s shop in the center of town. Hold Char in your hands when speaking to Autumn then return the next day.
Use the Big Small potion on any animal except birds, then ride the animal into the stone blockage to the east of the cafe, leading into the mountains.
Big City Dreams - Construction Cats
To initiate unlocking Cutie City, you musttalk to the construction cats in Snowbell Mountain. From the entrance near the cafe, instead of walking across the wooden bridge,head right to find the cats. This quest will involve you bringing the Owl Club back together. Speak to Freya about the cats, then Maia and Ash.
Deliver Ash’s supplies before returning to Freya.
Follow the Owl Club to the construction cats and let the NPCs talk. Speak to Ash.
Go back to the cafe and make bagels.The recipe can be purchased in rotation from either Oliver or Estelle. You do not have to put the bagels in your display case.
Return to the construction cats, and they will head to the cafe, unblocking the entrance into the city.
Corporate Retreat - Safeena
In the city,Safeena or the construction cat blocking access to the Coast will initiate this quest.
After exhausting Safeena’s dialogue in regard to her side quests, ask about the flowers in the city that block Clover Coast.
Go back to Heart Village and talk to Poppy, who is a flower expert.
Talk to Kiva and then Poppy again.
Return to Safeena or the construction cat blocking Clover Coast to unlock access.
Big Problem - Kai
After exhausting Kai’s dialogue in Clover Coast, you are able to ask her about the ginormous cat stuck in a log near Autumn’s house.
Retrieve an item from Estelle in the village to proceed.
Once you return to Kai you will gain access to the lighthouse,aim the red light toward the reticleon the screen and keep it there until the cat jumps into the air.
Golden Grove is now unlocked.
Secret Of The Witching Woods - Daisy
The giant cat is now blocking access to the Witching Woods.Initiate this quest by exhausting Daisy’s dialogue.
Head to Autumn to ask about accessing the woods. You will have to get all witches to imbue a toy with their magic. Head to each witch on the list.
Once the toy is imbued, and you bring it to the large cat, a cutscene will commence where you will be picked up and walked across the map.Credits will roll, but this is not the end of the game.Wait until the end of the cutscene to return to the world. The cat will place you inside Witching Woods.
The main quest is now complete as every area is unlocked. Inform Mayor Kiva of this to completely finish.
Side Quests
Side quests will reward you with new designsthat allow you to detail patterns on your cupcakes and on your wallpaper in the cafe. They will also reward you with furniture items or lead you to a cat you haven’t seen before.
NPCs have a schedule.Most of the time they will be found at their houses or their storefront. If they are not there, then they are on their way to the cafe for a bite to eat. The map will show NPC icons moving as they change rotation. If you may’t find them at their usual location, they are probably sitting in the cafe.
Maia
Owl By Herself
Ask Maia “Need Anything?”, then head to Estelle to get a new heating lamp.
You must unlock Clover Coast to get the next quest.
Some Pig
After Clover Coast has been unlocked(see Main Quest - Corporate Retreat),ask Maia “Need Anything?” All you have to do is head to the Coast and send any of the three pigs on the lower beach to the cafe.
Animals cannot be sent to the cafe if your cafe is already full.Ten is the max number of animals.
you’re able to order a pig to go to the cafe, then immediately pick him up and select “Be Free”, so that he doesn’t actually walk all the way to the cafe if you do not want him there. The quest will still update. Return to Maia and then all her hearts will be full.
Spa Day
You cannot start this unlessSnowbell Mountains is unlocked.
Ask Autumn, “Need Anything?” and help them deliver items to Lumi in the mountains.
You can choose whether to help Autumn with their personal affairs with Lumi or not. All it affects is what they say to you as you go through the quest. You can either hear them open up and bond, or brush the issue aside.
Return to Autumn.
Hocus Focus
Bring any cat to Autumn, so that they may use their potion on it. Your cat will start floating.
The potion Autumn concocted is in your inventory, use it on the cat to revert the effects.
Kiva
Patches
Ask Kiva “Need Anything?” and they will ask you to invite their red panda to the cafe.
The red panda, Patches, is walking around directlyin front of Kiva’s housein the center of town.
Pick the panda up and ask it to go to the cafe, then return to Kiva.
Magical Mixer
If you have already made the three types of food, just talk to Kiva again to complete the quest in an instant.
To know which food is sweet or savory, go into the cafe kitchen and open your recipe book. There are three tabs on the top of the page that list Sweet, Savory, and Fancy.
Maribel
Fashion Photoshoot
Ask Maribel, “Need Anything?” They will want you to place a Cloud-themed furniture piece in the cafe. You will have towait until a Cloud furniture item can be found in Estelle’s shop, so this may take an in-game day or two.
Once you find one and place it in the cafe, wait until the next day to talk to Maribel and complete the quest.
Dapper Doves Do Dastardly Deed
You must find Maribel’s keys by searching every dove in town. Search doves by picking them up. Pick up every dove then drop them to continue.
Every dove will be waddling around or behind Maribel’s store,aside from one that will be on the hill near Blossom’s house.
Return to Maribel with their keys. All of their hearts should be full now.
Estelle
Deliver The Goods
This is simple and easy as you just have to head to Kiva, go through the dialogue, then return to Estelle.Mayor Kiva’s house is located South of Heart Village, next to the ramp leading into Cutie City.
Assistance With The Assistant
Estelle wants you to speak with Ash. Ash claims they can work better if they had a nice cup of coffee.
Buy a coffee recipe from either Oliver or Estelle.You might have to wait a day until it comes back in rotation in the shops, or you may already have the recipe.
Make the coffee in the cafe. You don’t have to display it. Return to Estelle.
Ash
Spooky Scary Furniture
Ash doesn’t like cute stuff and wants you to find Spooky-themed furniture for the cafe.
Wait until you can find Spooky-themed furniturein Estelle’s store.Place it inside the cafe and return to Ash.
Prism Break
Collect all the magical, colorful bunnies running around town. Pick them up andwalk inside the white fence next to Ash’s house, then select “Be Free"to place the rabbit inside, where they can’t get out.
The less repetitive way to do this is to round them all up at onceby picking them up and selecting “Follow Me” to add them all to your party. They will all follow you to the pen, where you can then drop them inside one by one. Make sure to set them as “Be Free” once inside the fence.
Welcome To The Neighborhood
Exhaust Blossom’s dialogue. They will give you a potted flower.
Place the potted plant inside the cafe with decoration mode then return to Blossom.
Sweet Tooth
You should already have a Roll Cake recipe in your books in the kitchen. If not, purchase recipes from Oliver or Estelle.
Sunny
Anniversary Date
Buy flower-themed furniture from Lily and Poppy. Place something from them in your cafe.
Wait a day then speak to Sunny again.
Tricksy Business
You must unlock access to Cutie City to get this quest.
Sunny is looking for a raccoon friend of theirs. Tricksy the raccoon can be found between Malcolm and the playground in Cutie City. Ask the raccoon to follow or simply pick it up and bring it to Sunny.
Lily
Mushroom Spores
Lily asks you to find her friend Xin.You must unlock Cutie City to continue this quest.
Xin is on the third streetand has a red mushroom hat. Speak to Xin then return to Lily.
Magicatastrophe
Lily has ruined her plants. Fetch a potion from Autumn and return to Lily to complete this quest.
Poppy
Rad Dad
Buy Rad-themed furniture from Estelle and place it inside the cafe. You may already have done this in the beginning if you chose Rad style when speaking to Kiva.
Talk to Poppy again. He will reward you with even more Rad furniture.
Find andpurchase a croissant recipefrom either Oliver or Estelle’s shop.
Bake croissants in the kitchen and display them.
Freya
Feathered Friends
By asking Freya if they need anything, they will ask that you keep a bird inside the cafe.
Pick up any bird,like the owl next to Freya, and send it to the cafe.
Speak to Freya again.
Snack Swap
Buy a donut recipe from Estelle or Oliver and make some in the cafe.No need to display it.
Speak to Maia to give them a donut. They will ask that you bring Freya cookies back.
If you already made cookies or macaroons, you don’t have to make more. Just return to Freya.
Lumi
Onsen Master
Lumi wants you to bring the arctic fox to the cafe. This fox is locatedbehind the huge mountainLumi’s onsen is on top of.
Instead of walking up the mountain from Freya’s house,walk off the sidebehind it to find the arctic fox.
Send it to the cafe and return to Lumi.
Capybara Collection
Once you return to Snowbell Mountains, the capybara’s will be on the loose.(If you had previously sent a capybara to the cafe, it will now be in the mountains for the sake of this quest and will have to be sent back afterward.)
Find every missing capybara and bring them back to the onsen. The best way to do this is to collect them all one by one and then collectively go to the onsen.
Friendo is on the bridge, Captain Bara is at Freya’s and Cappy is where the arctic fox is/was.
Once you enter the onsen with all three, they will go their separate ways and leave your party.
Malcolm
Dance, Dance
Malcolm only has one quest and it’s quick and easy. Tell him all his dance moves are great, then return the next day to ask how the dance competition went.
Xin
Variety Is The Spice
Purchase different themed furniture from Lily and Poppy or Estelleand place them inside your cafe. You may have already decorated your cafe with different themed furniture, so speak to Xin again after.
All furniture has its theme in the name, such as Rad chair or Cute table.
Saving Mister Snuggles
You can only start this quest once the Witching Woods is unlocked.
Ask Xin if they need anything else, after unlocking the Witching Woods. They will say that they have lost their pet Mister Snuggles.
Head to the Witching Woods to ask Rosa where they think Mister Snuggles may be.
Return to Xin to reveal Mister Snuggles was with Xin all along.(This is the only animal in your collection book that is locked behind a quest.)
Safeena
Purr-fect Market Data
Safeena will tell you to place different categories of furniture in the café. You can purchase garden themed furniture from Lilly and Poppy, and every other theme from Estelle.
Return to Safeena after redecorating the café.
Venture Cat-pital
This quest involves spending your hard-earned in-game cash.You have to invest in every business ventureSafeena and the cats bring to you, so you have to save up money and eventually buy them all.
Money is earned by putting food in the display case in the café. Place items in the display case by using the recipe book in the kitchen. Simply click an empty spot in the drawing of the display case on the right side of the book.
Lee
Arcade Hero
Agree to give Lee money and return to him the next day.
Deliver the plushie to Maribel in Heart Village then return to Lee.
Online Shopping
Deliver clothes to the town residents. This is a lot of running back and forth.
Once you’re done, Lee will then give you a clothing item that you can actually wear.
Steve
Cute Potion
Steve only has one simple quest. Bring him your Basic display case from the cafe.You can eventually find a Basic display case at Estelle’s, but it may take a while.
Enter furniture mode inside the cafe and store your display case, then head to Steve.
Give up your display case for a couple of minutes and Steve will turn it into a Cute display case and return it to you.
Kai
New Friends
Pick up any cat and bring it to Kai.ensure you are holding itwhen speaking to Kai.
Lighthouse Gone Dark
Collect all the animals near the lighthouse.Ask them all to follow you, then walk down to the beach. One by one set them all as “Be Free” and then return to Kai.
Daisy
Scardey Mouse
Bring any cat, perhaps the one following you or the one on your head, and hand it to Daisy for a second.
Talk to Gabby for Daisy and then return.
Gabby
Matchmaker
Find any dog and hold it while speaking to Gabby.The dog he describes is the arctic dog in Snowbell Mountains, but any dog will complete the quest.
Rosa
A Beginner’s Guide To Witchcraft
Wait until nighttime bytrying to find every animal in the gameor by completing other side quests.Autumn sells a potion to make it automatically nightfall.
Use a toy in your inventory on the big black cat to the left of Rosa’s house, near the waterfall.
Return to Rosa.
Take These Broken Wings And Learn To Fly
Go to Autumn. She will make the Big Small potion work on birds now.
