General Tips For Every Cooking Mini-Game In Calico
Catching Ingredients
Usually, the catching mini-game looks like the photo above. There will be a grey line on the counter that allows you to understand where you need to be standing and aligning yourself. If you aren’t catching anything,make sure you’re standing directly on the grey line on the counter.
The other type of catching mini-game is when you make cupcakes or scones with blueberries. Instead of like the photo above, you will have to carry the cupcake tray and stand under a single stream of falling blueberries. You would think this is easier since you don’t have to move to catch multiple ingredients.
The truth is, it is harder because of how you must angle the cupcake tray to make sure each hole gets filled with blueberries. There is no secret to this mini-game other than to take it slow.Tap your movement keys slightlyin order to make sure each cup gets attention.
Pogo Stick
Whenever you have to make shapes in dough, the pogo stick mini-game will commence. The key to getting Perfect for every jump is towait for a second after the button prompt reaches the green circle. You have to press your jump button each time it lands in the center where the green circle is. You aren’t supposed to do this fast, but rather in a smooth and gradual motion. Wait one second and then press it, before it leaves again.
Cat Scritches
This is the second most buggy and hard of the mini-games in Calico. You have to understand how to control your character. As the game is now, your left and right movement keys will aim your character’s head in the direction you want to go. Then you will press your forward button in order to head in that direction.
To know what area of the cat needs scritches,you must pay attention to these red musical notes that appear around the body.At first, the musical notes will be very transparent and hard to notice.The longer you are unable to find the notes, the more opaque and prominent they will become, making it easier to spot and head to that part of the cat.
Fishing
There are two different fishing instances in Calico. When you make donuts and when you make taiyaki. The mechanics are the exact same. As soon as you start moving your fishing rod out to sea, it starts wobbling and becoming hard to control. If you do one movement at a time, you will get a feel for how the fishing rod moves and realize you have more control than you realize. The more movements you do, the more wobbly it gets. Take your time when moving your fishing line.
For donuts,you want to catch the donuts when they are large and brown for a better score. They have to be thoroughly cooked. For taiyaki, when your fishing line is above a fish, the green bar above them will start to fill.You want to reel fish in when the green bar is filledall the way. You will lose points if the bar overfills or underfills.

Pearls In Baskets
This is less of a mini-game and more of what you do any time you aren’t in a mini-game, like throwing ingredients into the cauldron. The best way to throw anything when in the kitchen is to stand as far away as you can. You can’t throw anything into the cauldron, a pan, or a cup by being close to it.
Run far enough away from the object you’re meant to be throwing at. Once you are a good distance away,use the left and right movement keys to scoot forward and adjust your aim. Moving forward is too quick and makes you lose your aim.ensure to turn the camera around so that you may see your aim from the side view,as it is hard to know if you are going to get it in by looking forward.
Heating Milk
When making Boba Tea, you must heat up the milk tea on a big red button. The button is very sensitive, so if you stand on it for too long you will burn the milk tea and not be hitting the sweet green spot anymore. Good thing your jump is high and slow in the game. You can do long, consistent jumps without needing to get off the button to heat the milk tea properly.
Stand on the button until the icon reaches the end of the green line. Jump up and the icon will slowly go back down. The timing will be enough for when you fall back down, just ensure to jump every time it is about to overheat. If you jump too early, you may find yourself needing to get off the button so that the icon stays in the green line.
Pouring Milk
This pertains to the Boba Tea recipe. You can be as messy as possible at this part of the recipe. Though it is hard to maneuver on the balloon, once you are above a cup it will instantly fill. There is no way to lose points during this mini-game, so long as you fly near each up.No accuracy is needed, just go close enough to each cup.
Mixing
There are other instances other than using a mixing stand where you will mix ingredients, but the mechanic is the exact same. You may think to press the jump button in the same accordance that you did with the pogo stick, but it’s actually the complete opposite. For this game,you want to press the indicated button as fast as possible once the speed kicks up.
You start off slow, and just like with the pogo stick, can wait a second once the indicated button lands on the calico paw. Once you do this enough times, the speed will increase, and you will need to change things up. In this mini-game, you can indulge in going faster and faster. You can take it slow and lose bonus points, but picking up speed will also make the mini-game finish way quicker.
Balancing Flan
Balancing flan is one of the most intentionally hard mini-games in Calico. Before this mini-game commences, you must pour your mixed ingredients into a platter with a height register.Do not make the flan tall unless you want an extreme challenge. The shorter, the better.
If you want a quickly-made recipe for that gold star, just make the flan as short as possible. That is the key to keeping up with this mini-game. The basis is to keep the black dot inside the green circle at the bottom of the screen, by using your movement keys.
