Sometimes being cute comes with a price.Calicooffers great customization in its initial character creator screen, but what else can you do once the game starts? The game allows you to play with customization to your heart’s content, whether that means your character, animals, or your cat cafe.

Below you will find a detailed explanation of how to change your physical appearance in Calico past the creation screen, and how to customize the sweet pets you have been collecting.
Character Customization
When you first start your journey in Calico you get to create your character.This involves things like the way you run, your body type, and your makeup.You can actually return to this screen as the game continues.The character creation screen in Calico is not limited or bound to the intro.You are able to change your person at any point in time, from any category.
Head
- Select the rainbow stars to choose a color and design for your eyes and makeup.
- Select the lipstick to choose a lip color.
- Select the powder mirror above the page to change the color of Accessories, Facial Hair, and Glasses.
Hair
- Select the pink hair dye bowl above to change hair color.
Clothes
- Select the rainbow star at the bottom of the page to change clothing item colors.
There are a couple of tabs at the bottom of your screen such as a list of the townspeople, animals, and the map.The last tab will indicate how to open the character creation screen.When you first create your character, you have no clothes to choose from.You will have to buy clothes and accessories to further decorate your person.
How To Get Accessories
In the center of town in Heart Village there are a couple of stores.Maribel owns the second building on the left and sells all things apparel.Allclothing items are white because you have the freedom to decorateand color items to your heart’s content.
Once you purchase an article of clothing,you can open the character creation screenand head over to Clothes to find your new items.
You can also be rewarded with clothing from quests. For instance, Lee’s (from Cutie City) second quest involves giving away clothing, in which you also get a piece of clothing in return.
To unequip a clothing item, re-select the item being worn.
Animal Customization
You may go the entire game without realizing you can giveyour cats, dogs, and capybara’scute little hats. You may have noticed thatthe only items in Maribel’s shop that are not white, are hats. These hats can be worn by both you and your animals.
To equip a hat for an animal, open the Animals tab from the bottom of your screen. Select an animal. Beneath each animal, there will be a Status bar where you can adjust the location of the animal. Below that will be Accessory.Select the grey box to open the accessory options for your animals. Here you will find all those hats you may have purchased.
To remove a hat from an animal, simply re-select the hat it is wearing.
