The World Quests in Genshin Impact are optional as they don’t play a part in the main story, but you have to do them if you want to unlock the secret areas for a certain region. Almost half of the exploration in Sumeru is locked behind these World Quests.
How To Get Dreams Beneath The Searing Sand Quest
When you start Golden Slumber for the first time, you’ll have to save everyone stranded inside a deep hole in the ground. This willtake you through a bunch of ruin puzzlesuntil you finally emerge in a cave structure. Here, you can follow a Seelie to get out and make camp at one of the oasis in the Desert.
After that, you’ll go through the Khemenu Temple where you’ll have to submit a bunch of blue orbs to the pillars if you want to open the way. This is also required to open the sarcophagus in the Mausoleum of King Deshret. During The Secret Of Al-Ahmar quest, you’ll also come across Samail who took Benben away.
Once you’ve dealt with Samail and you reach the top part of the area, Jebrael will mentionthat you should probably head back to camp because he fears that it’s been attacked as well. This will start the fourth and final quest in Golden Slumber.
How To Reach Khaj-Nisut
Once you get back to Sobek Oasis, you’ll see a bunch of Eremites hanging around.Defeat the small Eremites alongside Jeht and Jebrael to spawn the Geo Eremite boss. After defeating this boss, a dialogue will trigger where it’ll be confirmed that Nachtigal is safe as well. He’ll mention that the instructions given by Jebrael saved him.
When the dialogue is over, you have to travel to the north area and get to the Oasis. It doesn’t have a name, but you can see the marker to the left of Khaj-Nisut. As you get there, it’ll be nighttime and Jebrael will reveal his secrets around the campfire discussion. Upon learning everything, everyone will decide to get some rest.
The next day, everyone will make their journey to Khaj-Nisut, where you’ll find a bunch of Eremite mercenaries. They’ll ask you to hand Benben over, but you’ll have to fight them after refusing. This will be a hard battle since you’ll be fighting three strong Eremite bosses apart from the smaller ones, so make sure you have a good team.
After defeating the Eremites and finishing the long dialogue with your party, you’ll find out that you need to pass three trials if you want to find Khaj-Nisut. This will be quite a difficult puzzle and you can easily get distracted.
How To Pass Three Trials
Head over to the yellow circle on the right side from where you finish the dialogue.you may use a bunch of grapples to get there, and you’ll see the door to the required ruin when you get to the circle. Activate the book in front of the giant pillar, which will open a hole on your right. Fall into the hole to continue.
There’ll be a giant area below you, but you’ll land on an invisible floor before you fall all the way. As you get on the first invisible wall, keep running to your right until you run into a wall, and run forward once you do, as shown in the picture above. Eventually, you’ll find the exit as you fall to the second set of invisible floors.
This time, you have to run straight toward the statue on the other side of the room.If you run into the wall, go right until the wall goes away and head toward the statue again. Repeat the process with the third floor by heading to the statue farther away from you. When you get to the fourth floor, you’ll see a path to fall instantly.
As shown above, there’ll be a book you need to activate at the bottom, but it can only be accessed from one side. Reach the book and activate it to finish the trial. Now,you can teleport back out and go to the yellow circle that’s at the location where you first stood when you reached Khaj-Nisut.
To get to the trial, you’ll have to fall down until you see a door being guarded by the two Eremites shown above. You don’t have to defeat these Eremites, but you may do it for an easier time while solving the puzzle. Enter the room and activate the book in the middle once again, and you’ll also notice that the area is filled with Eremites.
Fall down the hole to your right that opens up after activating the book. You’ll be able to see an open door with the floating prism here. Activate the book to open the door and place the two floating prisms into the tiles on the floor. You can only carry one prism at a time, so make sure you don’t attempt to pick up both of them.
One tile will spawn an Everlight Cell while the other one spawns a new mechanism.Activate this mechanism to make the wall invisible and open the next door. In the next room, you’ll be able to see two more tiles on your right and there’ll be a prism on the left, as shown above. Defeat the Primal Construct and place the prism on one of the tiles.
By that time, the other prism will spawn in the previous room, and you can place it in the second tile. You have tointeract with the yellow mechanism and run to the invisible wall beside the next door to open the doorafter you’ve fixed both tiles with prisms. Enter the door and activate the book to get to the next area.
you’re able to also head into the doorway to your right to claim a Remarkable Chest in this room.
In the room below, you have to defeat the Primal Construct to unlock the book and open the door. On the other side, you’ll find a Keystone.Place this into the other doorway in the room with the Construct. In the new room, you’ll get the second keystone in the Common Chest that can unlock the next door.
Make sure youplace the two prisms into the tile in this room and activate the mechanismto make the wall invisible.
Head to a similar room on the other side to unlock it with the next keystone and follow the same process. Finally, this will open the three doors that lead into the room with the book that will finish the trial. Once that is done, you’re able to head to the third trial, which is essentially a combat trial.
Whenever you activate a book, a hole in the ground willlead you to a lower level where you have to fight a bunch of Primal Constructs to activate the next book. Do this twice and you’ll be able to pass the trial. Finally, you’re able to activate the main book by following the marker to spawn Khaj-Nisut.
How To Finish The Quest
Enter Khaj-Nisut and go down a couple of holes after the dialogue. At the lowest level, activate the blue book marked by the blue marker and get to the middle. At this point, you’ll have to find three more mechanisms around the area. You simply have to follow three blue orbs to their destination.
The orb to your left will go to a lower level where you’ll have to defeat a Primal Construct. After the orb enters its pillar, head back up and activate the corresponding book since it’ll turn blue. When you’re following the second orb in the middle, it’ll go to a room with another Primal Construct.
After defeating the enemy, you’ll have to time the orb wellso that it doesn’t cross any of the fans when they’re on since the fans destroy the orb. Once you achieve that, you may use the fan to lift yourself and continue following the orb. This will let you open the second book. The third orb will go down and you’ll have to use an elevator to go down.
For this one, you’ll have to go past a bunch of invisible walls. Go left to get past the first one, and right to go past the second one to get to the orb.Go back up with the elevator and activate the third book. Head to the mechanism in the middle and activate it as well. Now, you can simply follow the blue marker to reach the upper floor.
Grapple to the top and get to the red mechanism shown in the picture.Operate the mechanism once when it’s on red, then turn it to blue and operate it twice. Finally, turn it back to red and you’ll be able to get to a blue switch. Activate the switch to go higher where you’ll see four Primal Constructs waking up, but they’ll instantly fall back down.
Get to the other end of the room and go higher. As you go forward in this room, a cutscene will trigger. You’ll have to defeat some Eremites and Fatui during this.
Once they’re defeated, a wall will start coming at you from the place where Samail was sitting. You have to go down before the wall gets to you,but make sure you don’t land on the floor as you go down since this fails the process. During this process, you’ll also have to go past a bunch of invisible walls and floors.
This will lead to the final few cutscenes of the quest as it ends when you’re back to Aaru Village.
