The compass is a tool found in The Glacier and can prove to be quite confusing. It lights up with different colors and can send the player in circles if they don’t know what they’re looking for. Afterturning the power back onand heading down intoThe Glacier, thecompasswill be near. Ignoring the “Do Not Enter” door will eventually lead you to atower of stairsthat can be climbed down.
Headrightonce you reach the bottom,pass the trees, and into a creepy, dark room. You will be able to see sections of the screen thanks to a few lanterns hanging from the ceiling.Descend the platforms, and upon reaching the bottom,head left. The compass rests here in the middle of the cavern.
What The Compass Colors Mean
Once you obtain thelapis lazuli compassfromThe Glacier, you might notice it acts as more of ahoming devicethan a compass. Instead of pointing toward cardinal directions,it will tell you if you are close to either a red portal or a special item. If the compass glows red, verify to watch out for aportal.
If it produces a blue light, follow it; it will lead you to some sort ofspecial object. This can certainly make finding secrets easier. The doughnut on thelower left of the screenwill be your indicator if the compassstarts to activate.
Direction Of The Light
Now that you know the differentcolor indicators, it is time to understandhow to followthe compass. Thefurther awayyou are from the secret object or portal,the more spread outthe light will be. It looks like static inside the doughnut-shaped icon. Get closer to the objectto narrow the lightand make it less chaotic. This indicates you are on the path to the secret.
Keep an eye on the doughnut in the lower-left corner of the screento see the direction of the glowing lightand how narrow it becomes. It can certainly take some getting used to, but having the compass at your disposal will come in handy for later levels.
