Valkyrie Profile: Lennethis a very intriguing game - from the very start there are hints that something is not quite right, and while the game seems light on the story for a few hours, a little digging will reveal much about Valkyrie and the rest of the gods.

Naturally, with such a layered plot, Valkyrie Profile has three different endings to acquire. While two of them are pretty easily figured out, you’ll have to do some legwork to witness the third, best ending.

Ending C is basically anon-standard Game Over- it’s what happens when you don’t take your task as a Battle Maiden seriously enough, and upset Odin as a result.

Odin’s opinion of you can be viewed in the menu - it is theEvaluation Scorelisted at the bottom of the screen. If you want to experience Ending C, the steps to follow are very simple and can be followed as soon as you’re set free at the end of theArtolian Mountain Ruins.

How To Get Ending B - The Default Ending

Ending B is the totally normal ending and will begin as soonas you have passed every single period in the game. At theend of Chapter 8, you will progress to Jotunheim Palace, locking you into Ending B.

Don’t worry about accidentally getting Ending C or Ending A - Ending C is very hard to get unless you play the game incredibly incorrectly, and Ending A has extremely specific requirements that you are very unlikely to meet accidentally.

How To Get Ending A - The Best Ending

Ending A, or the ‘golden’ ending, has a set of strict requirements.

Firstly, there are a few actions that you must take as a prerequisite to the ending even being possible:

Thanks to these requirements,it is impossible to achieve Ending A on Easy mode.

These are the hardline actions you must take, but there is another requirement you must meet to trigger the ending:

Note that your Seal Value is not your Evaluation Score! Different actions interact with these ratings in different ways.

Valkyrie’s Seal Value is set at 80at the beginning of the game, and it represents the strength of the hold that Odin has over her.

Unfortunately, transferring a character to Odin will increase your Seal Value by 12, and that’s something we have to do to avoid our Evaluation Score plummeting and getting Ending C. To counter this, never ever send more than one character to Valhalla per chapter- only one. There’s some leeway, but this is a good rule to follow.

Your Seal Value also raises by a few points whenever you experience a Sacred Phase (the scene with Freya between chapters) while Valkyrie has theNibelungen Ringequipped. Conversely, she will lose two points of Seal Value if she experiences a Sacred Phase without the ring.

Following all the mandatory steps above will help you reduce your Seal Value significantly(apart from transferring Lucian, but that’s a requirement that you must meet). There are only three things that you can do to reduce it further:

If you are inChapter 7and yourSeal Value drops to 37or lower, you will witnessa cutscene in which Lucian speaks with Frei- this is your indicator that Ending A is now unlocked. If you progress to Chapter 8 without seeing this scene, you cannot get Ending A even if your Seal Value drops to 37 in Chapter 8.

It is possible for the Einherjar you send up to Valhalla to die during a Sacred Phase- to avoid this, ensure Lucian is well-equipped and has a high Hero Value before you transfer him. If he dies, he obviously cannot be present for that cutscene.

Once you’ve witnessed the cutscene with Lucian and moved onto Chapter 8,one of your Spiritual Concentrations will point you toward the Weeping Lily Meadow.Going here will set you on the path to Ending A, and is apoint of no return- verify you’ve completed all the Chapter 8 dungeons first, if you want to!

If you avoid going to the Weeping Lily Meadow in Chapter 8,you can still get Ending Bby ending the chapter normally.
