Enchanting has become even better in Dragonflight. You can choose to specialize in certain talents to make your buffs stronger and your products a higher quality, and even unlock unique recipes at higher tiers. If you want to harness Enchanting’s potential for yourself, here’s everything you need to know.

Overview

Unlike other trades, which require one profession to gather materials and another to refine them,Enchanting allows you to acquire and use your obtained productsin one package. You do this byDisenchanting, which is the process of destroying green or higher armor and weapons and turning them intoChromatic DustandVibrant Shards.

Because Disenchanting requires gear to work, it’s smart to pair Enchanting withany other refinement professionthat allows you to make gear quickly. Any will do, but in particular, you’ll wantJewelcrafting, Blacksmithing, Tailoring, or Leatherworking.

To get started with the profession, seek outSoragosa in Valdrakken, who will serve as your primary Enchanting trainer. Here, you may pick upDragon Isles Enchanting, use theEnchanter’s Lecternworkstation, and purchase supplies.

Finally, before you dive headfirst into the profession,Enchanting requires a profession toolto function, but it’s also a good idea toequip two accessoriesalong with it.

Enchantments

Enchanting would lose its namesake if it didn’t primarily deal with enchantments, which canbuff your cloak, bracers, boots, rings, chest, and weapon. However, you aren’t limited to only combat enchantments in Dragonflight, as you’re able to boost theeffectiveness of profession tools, as well.

How To Rank Up In Enchanting

Just as with any other refinement profession, leveling up in Enchanting is rather straightforward. You’ll want to target orange recipes, as these guarantee skill levels, so the recipes bought from Soragosa will be your best friend for thefirst half of your journey.

Alternatively, you could earn levels by Disenchanting gear, although its effectiveness first decays atlevel 13and willstop granting experience at level 25.

Once you reach level 50 in Enchanting,Soragosa will no longer have recipes available for purchase, and her weapon enchantments only grant experience until 70. As such, you’ll have to find the stronger recipes on your own. Luckily, they come from nearly any aspect of the game, fromworld content, boss drops, or certain specializations.

Enchanting Specializations

Wheneveryou craft a new enchantment, you may realize that your character gains points ofDragon Isles Enchanting Knowledge. These can be used atlevel 25to unlock the new Dragonflight specializations, providing different perks depending on what you’d like to focus on.

Though it is possible to eventually gather enough Knowledge throughquests and craftingto unlock all three talent trees, that luxury won’t be afforded to you right away. Thoroughly read through what every choice offers, and then focus onlearning one at a time to maximize efficiency.

Enchantment

The first specialization,Enchantment, provides exactly what the name suggests. Within this tree, you’ll find perks tomake your enchantments stronger and elevate their quality, as well as unlocking unique enchantments that are among thestrongest buffs in the game.

Insight Of The Blue

Insight of the Blueis the second specialization, and it is primarily responsible forDisenchanting and extracting better ingredientsfrom destroyed gear. However, it also provides a number ofIllusory Good recipes, which can sell well on the Auction House.

Rods, Runes, And Ruses

Finally, the last Enchanting specialization isRods, Runes, and Ruses, which grants you the ability tomake better tools and weapons, and it gives you the opportunity to make the only Enchanting toy,Khadgar’s Disenchanting Rod.
