Fire Mage has always been known asthe specialization that relies on RNG. Several of its hard-hitting abilities have arandom chanceto become aninstant cast with no cost. But while the procs can sometimes be few and far between, there are several remedies to guarantee a stellar damage output.
These remedies can take the form of many different fixes that will optimize your class, such aspicking the right talentsand focusing onincreasing your Critical Strikestat. To start, a handful of races pair very nicely with Fire Mage.

Fire Mage Rotation
Fortunately, there aren’t too many things to know about Fire Mage’s core rotation, as you only have to deal withfive abilities. All of these revolve aroundbuilding stacks of Hot Streak, which is used to instantly proc your nextPyroblastorFlamestrike, your biggest damaging spells.
A few abilities that aren’t part of your core rotation that you should consider hotkeying areCombustion, Mirror Image, Blazing Barrier, or Shimmer. The first two arebuffs that add to your damage,while the latter two keep you safe andshould be used as often as possible.
Although talents aren’t quite as important for leveling as they are for endgame and raiding, you’re able to still optimize to include talents thatbuff your Fireball and Pyroblastwhileadding charges of Fire Blast and Phoenix Flames, ensuring that you can run your Hot Streak stacks for as long as possible.

Gearing Up
After you find yourself at level 70, there are multiple options toenhance your Item Level, or ilvl, if you want to get even stronger, and you’ll want to do sobefore you start raiding and doing Mythic+ dungeons.

While maximizing your ilvl is a good strategy, you’ll want to takegems and enchantmentsinto consideration, as well. Gear upgrades can boost your overall damage and health, but these specialized buffs can offer you more secondary stats, likeCritical Strike and Versatility.
Increases Intellect and your Mana pool.
While your talent tree for endgame content doesn’t see much difference from your generalized tree, there are still a few notable differences, keeping in mind that you’ll cooperatewith healers and tanks.
