Detailed below are the basics of each important task required to flourish within the town as well as how to access new biomes and survive the perilous mines. The game is currently in Early Access, so there is a lot for players and developers to learn over time.
Each Season There Is New Growth
When you first get introduced to your plot of land and where you will be farming, there will be a lot of trees and rocks in your way. Clearing out your farm will take a lot of energy and reward you with a lot of great resources such as wood and stone. After you have spent the season cleaning your farm and filling it with crops and chickens, you may be wondering how to get more wood and stone, now that they are all gone.
Each season, new growth instantly appears on your farm. This may be annoying since trees will sprout overnight in areas you may not want them, but nothing is wrong with a little more wood logs.Overnight trees, grass, logs, and stones will reappear all over your farm.
Take note that you’re able to shake trees by going up to them and using the interact key.Shaking trees will drop either one wood log or a saplingof that particular tree type. This is useful when you are trying to decorate your farm with specific tree types and need to plant more. Grass appears as darker green tuffs that can be interacted with.Pull out these grass tufts to acquire both mixed seeds and animal feed.
You will want new growth so that you’re able to get more seeds, feed, and basic resources for the coming season.
Sell Fish And Seashells Daily
The best way to make money early on is by completing some basic tasks.Fishing costs a lot of energy, but the reward is hefty. Both regular fish and seashells sell for a good amount, especially if they are high in rarity. There is a river at your farm, but you can access the beach by heading to the right of your screen past your farm. The beach will have seashells on land each day for sale, and they can sell for up to 60 to 100 each.
A fishing rod is instantly given to you, but you get your first upgraded fishing rod once you start donating to the museum. Take note of the rarity of items, because sometimes you will pick a flower or seashell that has a yellow, orange, or blue circle marking it in your inventory. All these circles mean is that the Fish, Seashells, Wild Plants, and Crops that have this are slightly better than the normal variety and therefore will sell for more, with blue being the rarest.
The size of the fish also does not matter. What determines the rarity of fish is how fast they swimand how difficult they are to catch. There is a fishing mini-game where you must click the mouse button once the fish icon is inside the red brackets. Some fish move way too fast to be able to click at the correct moment. These fish will sell for more.
Getting Started With Livestock
After a couple of days, Cedric will be outside your house and suggest you start taking care of a chicken coop. You can acquire this beforehand if you please, and all you have to do is head up the path left of your farm. There are two stores in this meadow area, the first one near the river is where you can buy blueprints for buildings such as coops, barns, and house upgrades, and the second store is where you can buy animal feed and animals. There are some unnatural farm animals to purchase such as a crab or an enchinada.Where a chicken will yield eggs, a crab will yield fish every day. It is all about what you prefer to be farming more of.
One small coop will cost you 6000 coins, 200 wood, and 150 stone. You should start working towards gathering these materials.Purchase two chicks and by the time they are matured, they will drop two eggs each morning. Two eggs are enough to cook a fried egg using the Brick Oven and will be your key to starting your cooking journey.
Survive Mining With Rock Cakes
To unlock the mines, you must speak with Enzo who is in the meadowup the left path of your farm. He will ask you to collect materials to repair the bridge beside his shop. Once this bridge is repaired, you will have access to the forest where a witch Hazel resides on the left, and the entrance to the mines up North. For every ten levels in the mines, progress will be saved.Material will always respawn in the mines, but you need only interact with the gargoyle stone statue on the first floor to teleport down to the last level you were at.
Combat is a bit difficult in this game since moving around is not very smooth and there is no blocking system, only rolling away.Though it is hard to put up a fight, it is quite easy to also just run away. You can outrun most enemies in the game. The best way to survive is by purchasing Rock Cakes from the bakery in town. You can purchase health and stamina potions from the Apothecary in town for more money, butRock Cakes are cheaper and restore both health and stamina combinedinstead of you purchasing two different potions.
Important Locations
Eventually, you will get a quest to speak with Queen Isa as you were summoned by her. The real question is where is Queen Isa? Or anyone else for that matter? Queen Isa is actually within the town.At the museum, head left where there is spooky fencing. Her kingdom is left of town here.
To reach the snowy mountains, you have to donate to the museum. Donate enough to all categories and the Blue Oak Nora will thank you and unlock the mountains, where you will find Booker.
There is a second beach on the map as well as an abandoned swamp connecting to the volcanoes. Both of the entrances to these areas will unlock at the same time. Both are unlocked by continuing to contribute to the museum. The second beach is past Enzo and Cedric’s store in the meadow, to the right of the bridge. The empty, swampy village is North-East of town. You must go to the very right of town until you find a path leading up.
Friendship And Romance
you’re able to gift villagers absolutely anything and their heart meter will fill up. To increase their happiness and have their hearts fill up way faster, you must gift them things they actually enjoy.Open your inventory and swap to the tab with the heart icon. Click on whichever villager you please to see a little description of their personality and three items they would like to receive.
The way romances or friendships work is that after a while, you will get a cutscene with them. For instance, after two and a half hearts full for William, a cutscene occurred at the bar. This cutscene will initiate your friendship questwith said person. There is no knowing where the cutscene will take place, so make sure to explore a lot. Once this initial cutscene happens, you can start following the friendship quest which will tell you what you need to do, even if it is to wait a day until the villager contacts you.
Upgrade Your Equipment When You Can
You can go a pretty long time in the game without realizing where to upgrade everything, but there is a smith in town who can upgrade your hoe, axe, and pickaxe. The smith is past the statue in town, to the right, and then down. To upgrade your sword, you must go past the center statue and museum. The first house on the left past the museum is where your sword needs are.
After donating around 10% to Fishing in the museum, Kipp will gift you an upgraded copper fishing rod. To purchase an even higher upgrade, you need only visit him at the beach and come prepared with the correct ore and price tag.
Donate To The Museum Often
After a couple of days, you will get a cutscene once you walk into town and toward the statueand a large building you couldn’t enter before. This is where you will be introduced to Queen Isa and will be asked to restore the museum to its former glory. All you have to do is enter the rooms in the museum, interact with the book on the pedestal, and donate. You will get an ongoing quest tofirst donate 10% into every category, then 30%, and so on. For every milestone, an NPC relating to the category will walk in on you and reward you with something. For instance, after donating 30% to Wildlife, Cedric will give you two Upgrade Building blueprints.
After every category is donated 10%, the big Blue Oak attached to the museum will unlock a new area on the map.It is vital tomake donating a priority since it is the key to progressing in the game and unlocking items, blueprints, and biomes.
