The issue with the Vendread Archetype is that the deck could not keep up with the meta despite the fun and consistency of summoning the Boss Monsters. Despite its flaws, it has many fans who push the limits of the deck. Thanks to the archetype focusing on Zombies, this deck can be supported by Generic Zombie Cards to boost its strength. With the right cards, you’re able to discover multiple ways to help its Boss Monster.

Special Effect

Vendread Chimera

If a card would be destroyed by another card or effect, you can banish a Zombie Monster from your Graveyard to negate and destroy it. When used for a Ritual Summon: All your opponent’s monsters get -500 Attack/-500 Defense

Revendread Slayer

Once per battle, if this card battles an opponent’s monster, you can banish one Zombie monster from your GY; this card gains 300 Attack. If this card is sent to the GY, you can add one Ritual Spell from your deck to your hand.

Vendread Battlelord

You can banish one “Vendread” card from your GY and declare Monster, Spell, or Trap. For the rest of this turn, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects of that type.

Revendread Executor

This card’s name becomes “Revendread Slayer” while on the field. Your opponent cannot target cards you control with card effects when it is on the field, except for this card.

The boss monster of this deck is a Ritual Monster calledRevendread Slayer. There are other powerful Ritual Monsters in this archetype, but Revendread Slayer is theonly one that can save itself from being destroyed by battle, alongside card effects with the Ritual Spell Card used to summon it,Revendread Origins. Even when defeated,Revendread Slayer has a Special Ability tocall another Ritual Spell Card from your deck, making it easy to summon it again — even from the Graveyard.

YuGiOh Revendread Slayer

Revendread Slayer is not a heavy hitter when you first summon it to the field, and you want to take advantage of its ability toincrease its Attack Power by 300 every time it attacks permanently. The issue you will find is that you rarely encounter an opponent who will slowly allow you to increase your damage. Revendread Slayerstarts with 2,400 Attack Powerand will needtwo turns of attackto deal with an opponent who played the fan-favorite Blue-Eyes White Dragon. You will have to use Generic Zombie Cards to support Revendread Slayer.

The archetype has another, greater boss monster,Revendread Executor. This is a level eight Ritual Monster with more power and a better effect.Revendread Executor’s name becomes Revendread Slayer so that Revendread Origins can save the card. The strategy with Revendread Executoris to have as many powerful monsters on the field because it can protect your other monsters from your opponent’s card effects.

Getting the suitable monsters to make the best version of your Ritual Monsters is easy since you can use the Graveyard and even pull banished monsters.

The best monsters for building the Ritual Monsters for the deck areVendread Core, Vendread Houndhorde, and Vendread Revenants. Vendread Core provides the best buff to Revendread Slayer. If you summon Revendread Executor with all three effect monsters, you will have a powerful boss monsterthat can only be defeated in battle and still has protection with Revendread Origins.

If you struggle to Ritual Summon your monsters, the archetype also has a great link monster that covers some of the deck’s weaknesses.Avendread Savioris another monster thatchanges its name to Revendread Slayer, giving it protection. This monster is easy to summon, only requiring two Zombie Monsters, and iseasily supported with generic Zombie support.Avendread Savior can come out to the field quickly andhelp you with your goal of consistently bringing out powerful Vendread Ritual Monsters.
