Last Rites is a short quest that lets you bring peace to an old woman and her late husband. No mighty sword or special armor is waiting for you at the end, though the quest is no less important for it.

How To Start Last Rites

Before the quest appears, you will need to complete the side questDefender of the Faith.With the shrines repaired and students dealt with, an old woman will appearnear the bridge to thenorth of Blackboughat night.

You must havebeaten the studentsat the end of Defender of the Faithfor Last Rites to start. Allowing them to continue would have failed the quest and prevented Last Rites from starting.

She asks Geralt for help, explaining that the ghost of her late husband had been haunting her dreams and asking her tobring her wedding ring to his grave.Her poor health prevents her from making the trip herself. Agree to help her to start the quest.

Delivering The Ring

The grave is a short distance away, to the northwest of the old woman. There areno enemies there or along the way.Just walk to the area anduse your Witcher Sensesto identify the correct gravestone. Interact with it to place the ring.

If you have completedMagic Lamp,make sure touse it on the gravestoneafter placing the ring. You will be able to seea short conversationthat adds some closure to the quest.

With the deed done, return to Blackbough and look for a young woman identified for the quest. She tells Geralt that the woman he had helped was herlong-dead grandmother.Despite the turn of events, she still provides asmall rewardfor helping her family, ending the quest.
