Sableis an open-world game that lets you off the leash from the very beginning, allowing you to explore to your heart’s content. The only loose goal is to collect masks across the dunes of Midden, each mask representing a different career or life path.

There are15 masks in totalin Sable including the recently addedAngler Maskwhich came with the new fishing update. Many masks are reliant on collecting certain badges. Once you’ve collectedthree badges, you can take them to aMask Casterfound throughout the world and exchange them for a mask.
Angler Mask
The Angler Mask is unlocked after you complete the’Gone Fishing' quest.To initiate the quest, findAngler Yoshi, who will give you a fishing rod and your assignment.Angler Yoshi can be found in Sansee, in between the Hercules Beetle Nest and the Burnt Oak Station.
This quest will require you to catch a variety of fish in different regions and return them to Yoshi. Here are all the fish you’re required to catch and where to look for them:
Storm Fish
Once you’ve caught all of the fish,return to Yoshifor your badge. Exchange it at the nearest Mask Caster.
Cartographer’s Mask
To unlock the Cartographer’s Mask you’ll need to acquirethree Cartographer’s Badges.You can buy these badges fromCartographers around the world. Once you have all three badges, exchange them for the mask at a Mask Caster.
This mask isautomatically unlockedfrom the beginning of the game.
Chum Mask
The Chum Mask is unlocked when you return100 Chum eggs to the Chum Queenin Sansee. You can find Chum eggs inevery corner of Midden. Look out for floating, white worms hidden around corners, atop high points, and underneath debris.
Once you unlock and equip the Chum Mask, it willalert you when there are additional Chum eggs around. If you collect all of them, you’ll be able to unlock new clothing options.
Climbing Mask
To unlock the Climbing Mask you’ll need to gather threeClimbing Badges. You can find one by going to theSeven Bells Campin Redsee and talking to Bashir. You can find another by climbingKemble’s Cubein the Badlands region. You can find a third by completing the’Riding The Wave’quest in the Sodic Waste region.

Entertainer’s Mask
You’ll need threeEntertainer Badgesto unlock the Entertainer’s Mask. Thankfully, all the entertainer quests can be found in the town ofEccria, in the Redsee region.
‘Glide and Seek’can be initiated by talking to the children wanting to play a game of hide and seek. The’Oasis Flower’quest can be unlocked by talking to Tej, another child in Eccria. Finally, the’Searching For Llhor’quest can be started by talking to Shar Varana. It’ll eventually lead you to findLlhor in the Sodic Wasteregion.
Once you have all three badges, exchange them for the mask as a Mask Caster.
Guard’s Mask
To unlock the Guard’s Mask, you’ll need to complete all three side quests featuringEliisabet.You can meet Eliisabet in theBurn Oak Stationin the Sansee region where her questline will begin.
From there a’View From The Bridge’quest will begin. After completing that quest you can meet her again at theMarrow Bone Stationin The Wash region. And then finally, you can meet her again at theSeven Sisters Stationin Hakoa.
Hercules Beetle Mask
The Hercules Beetle Mask can be unlocked by completing innkeeper quests at the three main stations. This includes theBurnt Oak Stationin Sansee, theMarrow Bone Stationin The Wash, and theSeven Sisters Stationin Hakoa. Each quest will send you on a fetch quest to collect either beetle’s, or beetle’s dung. Fun.
Ibexii Mask
The Ibexii Mask can be unlocked aftercompleting the tutorial questline. Before leaving the Ibexii tribe, you’ll be given this mask.
Machinist’s Mask
The Machinist’s Mask can be unlocked after collectingthree Machinist Badges. These badges can be gained after completing quests forvarious machinists in the world. You’ll gain one badge as part of the game’s tutorial, which means you only need two more badges to get the Machinist’s Mask.
Machinists give out quests in all three stations in Midden. This includes theBurnt Oak Stationin Sansee, theMarrow Bone Stationin The Wash, and theSeven Sisters Stationin Hakoa. We already have a walkthrough for the machinist’s quest from the Marrow Bone Station, since the’Eye To The Sky’quest requires some in-depth puzzling.
