Hunter x Hunter has anime fans hyped with the upcoming Nen x Impact fighting game currently in development.
We finally saw a glimpse of the game at Evo Japan 2024 showcase, and now we know the first group of Hunter x Hunter fighting game characters, along with the amount of playable characters for Nen Impact.
Published by Bushiroad Games and developed by Eighting, Nen Impact has caused a stir among the FGC, with many pro players giving it positive reviews.
Even legendary fighting game pro Justin Wong, who tried the game out for two hours, said onX (formerly Twitter)he wished he could play it for 10 hours.
What is Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact about?
Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact is a fighting game based on the beloved manga and anime series of the same name, created by renowned mangaka Yoshihiro Togashi.
The game follows a 3v3 fighting format, similar to Marvel versus Capcom 3, another popular fighting game that Eighting and Capcom developed.
In a 3v3 fighting game, players always have one of their three chosen characters on the screen. They can switch between characters or call upon the two to perform a special assist move.
The objective is straightforward — the player with the last character standing wins.
All Hunter x Hunter fighting game characters
The first trailer of Nen x Impact, released on Jun 17, 2025, gave us a glimpse of the game’s combat dynamics as Gon Freecss, Leorio, and Isaac Netero faced off against Killua Zoldyck, Kurapika, and Hisoka.
The game initially revealed a roster of six characters. While those six remain confirmed, a recent glimpse of the full character select screen at Evo Japan 2024 during Nen Impact’s gameplay showcase shows the roster has since expanded to 16.
This doesn’t necessarily mean the final roster is set in stone, as many fighting games release additional characters post-launch
Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact character wishlist
For Hunter x Hunter fans, the game’s potential character roster is intriguing. Possibilities include Chrollo Lucifer and the Phantom Troupe, offering a diverse set of powerful fighters.
The Zoldyck family, known as the deadliest assassins in the series, might also join the fray.
The Chimera Ants, led by the powerful Ant King Meruem, present another avenue for exciting gameplay. The Royal Guards – Neferpitou, Shaiapouf, and Menthuthuyoupi – known for surpassing many members of the Hunter Association, could bring formidable challenges to the game.
With such a varied selection, Nen x Impact appeals to both fighting game and anime fans, offering a unique experience.
