One of the most anticipated survival games to come to completion is, no doubt,Stranded Deep. The game has you scouring a set of tropical islands after a plane crash, doing your best to survive. You don’t know what’ll get you next if you don’t pay close attention to what you need to do in the first couple of hours of the game.

But what about if you’ve been playing since its Early Access days? Some of the things that make this game so fun miss out on the possibility of making it truly great, and that’s what we want to go through today.
10Make The Cook Action The Same As Eat
When you first find yourself struggling to survive in Stranded Deep, you’re going to rush your way into finding a viable food source that won’t force you to eat all of the coconuts on the island. That will make your character sick and dehydrated.
The food source you might find easiest to pick upearly on in the game are crabsand sardines, but once you are ready with your fire lit, you might find out the hard way that you need to pay attention to what you press to cook your meat. If you don’t, you end up eating raw meat and feel sick.
9Add Some Variety To The Islands
The game’s premise is something we love. Stuck in an archipelago of deserted islands, you get to travel far and wide to survive some of the harshest conditions known to man with little to no resources to start you off. Once you find everything you need on one island, it’s time to go to the next.
Understandably, everything you find is needed to survive, but some surprises every once in a while, like some pirate treasure, would be lovely. Or some ancient civilization remains scattered here and there.
8Hammers That Do Damage
Stranded Deep has two types of hammers you can use. First is the Crude Hammer, a hammer made out of wood to create the buildings or vehicles you need early on in the game. Once you visit the islands and explore your first shipwreck, you might come across a Refined Hammer.

Blunt Damage is a standard in almost all games, but for some reason, this isn’t calculated by the team behind Stranded Deep. If the Hammers you find in the game could take out some of your predators, you would have more inventory space and a weapon at the ready everywhere you go.
7An Increase Of Resources On The Islands
Before you are even close to farming, you will need a good amount of resources to build your ideal living setting off the grid. When you are about to get the necessary resources, you’ll come to realize that the island you are on doesn’t have any more rock, right as your axe’s durability is at zero percent.
If every island had more resources, you could enjoy finishing your paradise villa, making your trips away from home to find shipwrecks instead of rocks and wood.
6A Sort Of Storyline
We don’t expectevery survival gameto come equipped with a massive storyline, but Stranded Deep throws you right into the (cough cough) deep end and doesn’t give you any character background.
It makes sense as you need to survive and can’t get distracted, but to cut into the repetitiveness of having to collect, build, hunt, and collect a little storyline would make the game an instant classic.
5Buildings Should Improve Your Survival
If you want tobuild the house of your dreams in Stranded Deep, you’ll realize that it gets pretty expensive resource-wise, and you will come to hope that the buildings you come up with are more than just aesthetically pleasing.
If the game had some extra features for you to come out on top of your game after sleeping in a house, then this wouldn’t be a concern, but it seems that living off of a basic shelter and in a home doesn’t imply any survival-rate increase.
4Diversify Loot
The things you can build in Stranded Deep go from the basic necessities to some entertaining vehicles like the Gyrocopter. To make the Gyrocopter, you will need many different parts and, most notably, fuel. Now to make fuel, you’ll need a Jerrycan that you’ll use in containers and shipwrecks.

Even though loot locations are randomized with each game, you’ll realize that you will always find the same loot in the same places. That’s a comfortable way to begin your runs, but fully randomizing loot would make the game much more challenging.
3Make The Sleep And Save Button The Same
At the end of a full day of survival, you will want to enjoy some well-deserved rest. And ifyou’ve played other survival games, this is usually the moment you get to save your game. Technically, this is the case in Stranded Deep, but don’t just sleep and go on with your day because that doesn’t save your progress.
Ideally, saving the game as soon as you sleep would make the experience much more enjoyable. Especially considering the fact that you might forget and pay a higher price after running off to find extra resources on another island.
2A Wind Direction System
Once you get your first raft built and running with the sail and rudder, you’ll realize that all you need to do is have it face in the direction you want, and it will go straight. Of course, that’s amazing after you’ve spent hours paddling your way to the next island, but it would be great to have a wind direction system.
This way, you would have to pay attention to where you are going and enjoy an extra layer of survival in the game. You may not even go to the island you had in mind and find yourself in a boss battle because the tropical winds decided so.
1Food Storage
When you kill your first prey in Stranded Deep, you might realize that it will spoilif you cookand leave the meat. On the other hand, if you don’t skin your prey, the flesh won’t rot. Keep that in mind if you are on your first runs.
It would make the game realistic if there were a food storage system that wouldn’t have to rely on a bug. For example, historically, people would salt meats or cure them to preserve them in the long run. That would be fun to implement in Stranded Deep.
