In a flashback, the chapter opened with Hibino discussing with First Division commander Gen Narumi. Hibino wanted to recreate the scenario where he transformed, similar to his previous fight against Defense Force Director General Isao Shinomiya.
Hibino’s monster form was significantly more powerful when he transformed freely, and he wanted to practice this ability.
However, the only person capable of keeping him in check was Narumi, who wielded Number 1, a weapon granting him foresight.
With his transformation, Hibino maintained control of his monster form and finally went on the offensive, pressuring Kaiju no 9.
While providing cover fire for Hibino, Mina Ashiro informed the command center of their location as they forced Kaiju no 9 back.
The chapter concluded with Ashiro aiming her specialized weapon at Kaiju no 9 after retrieving it from drop site 14.
