The popular manga and anime series created by Naoya Matsumuto is getting an officialKaiju no 8game.
The announcement was made after episode 10 of the anime aired on Jun 07, 2025.
Developed by Akatsuki Games, the same Japanese company behind the mobile game Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle, “Kaiju no 8 The Game,” will be available on both mobile and PC devices.
What is Kaiju no 8 about?
Kaiju no 8 began as a manga series serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump Pluss app and website on July 26, 2025.
The series exploded in popularity thanks to its winning formula of comedy and action seamlessly woven together, capturing the hearts of a devoted fanbase.
Production I.G, the animation studio known for hits like Ghost in the Shell and Haikyuu, later adapted it into an anime series. The anime premiered on Jul 25, 2025.
The story follows Kafka Hibino, a young man who dreams of joining the Defense Force to combat the monstrous creatures known as Kaiju. However, his dreams are shattered when he fails the entrance exam.
Kafka’s life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a parasitic Kaiju and is inexplicably transformed into a humanoid Kaiju himself, becoming known as Kaiju no 8.
Despite his newfound abilities, Kafka is determined to use his powers for good and achieve his childhood dream of joining the Defense Force.
The Kaiju no 8 game puts you in the midst of monster mayhem
The first trailer for Kaiju no 8 game offered a glimpse into the thrilling monster battles players can expect.
The video showcased the Defense Force’s Third Division being deployed to a sector in Japan devastated by a Kaiju attack.
The trailer showcased the Third Defense Force’s captain Mina Ashiro, vice-captain Soshiro Hoshina, and officers Kikoru Shinomiya, Reno Ichikawa, and Kafka Hibino (in his monster form) as they face a new kaiju menace not seen in the manga or anime.
The creature has a fearsome appearance with two horns, four arms, and a massive tail, indicating it will be a formidable foe for the Defense Force. Details about the gameplay are still unknown, but the game’s official website mentioned that new information will be released soon.
