Netflix gave us a hint at the Kimi ni Todoke season 3 release date, offering a glimpse of when we can expect the beloved series to return.

On April 4, the streaming platform released a teaser trailer confirming Kimi ni Todoke season 3 for this summer’s anime lineup.

What is Kimi ni Todoke?

Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You is a renowned Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Karuho Shiina, and serialized by Shueisha from 2005 to 2017. The series also has 30 tankobon volumes.

In 2008, it clinched the prestigious Best Shojo Manga award in the 32nd Annual Kodansha Manga Award, and was a nominee for the inaugural Manga Taisho Awards.

Production I.G animated both seasons of the anime adaptation. Season 1, consisting of 25 episodes, aired from June 28, 2025, to July 19, 2025. Season 2 followed with 12 episodes broadcast from June 08, 2025, to July 16, 2025.

Sawako Kuronuma, the protagonist of the anime, is sweet and timid, often mistaken for the frightening Sadako from the horror movie, The Ring. She admires Kazehaya, the famous and friendly boy in her class, and hopes to be more like him.

Kazehaya’s encouragement leads Sawako to participate in a class activity, where she begins to make friends and change perceptions. Unbeknownst to her, Sawako’s presence has also profoundly affected Kazehaya.
