At the brink of being swept, LGD Gaming MY orchestrated a magnificent three-game turnaround to take down fellow Malaysians TEAM SECRET in a five-game nail-biter and claim the coveted crown.
With the win, the team took home the lion’s share of the US$300,000 prize pool and will headline the eight qualified teams from the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2 in the upcoming Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason X Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

LGD Gaming MY pulls a reverse sweep to capture Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2 title
LGD Gaming MY was untouchable throughout the tournament. They swept teams in the group stage and took down AG Global and Loops in the knockout stage en route to the grand finals.
TEAM SECRET was just as flawless in their campaign.
They bulldozed their way both in the groups, before knocking out Team Vitality and Season 1 champions Vivo Keyd Stars in the playoffs to reach the final stage and meet their fellow Malaysians.
Team Secret looked to avenge the outcome of the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2 Malaysian Qualifier in the rerun, and was almost there.
They took apart LGD Gaming MY’s magnificent team fighting by splitting the map on back-to-back games with Ang Aik “YuHan” Yeong’s Da Qiao pick.
YuHan’s Eye of the Whirlpool activation in the bottom lane in the 20th minute paved the way for TEAM SECRET’s surprise base push to steal the opener.
In game two, Da Qiao’s split push and pick-off threat allowed the SEA Last-Chance winner to disrupt LGD’s formation and reduce their team fight capability. This was all they needed to manufacture a base push in the 15th minute to reach match point.
Buried in a two-game rut, Coach Kok Kiong “Joker” Lai finally banned Da Qiao — a move that ultimately turned things around for his team.
LGD Gaming MY came out with a vengeance in game three, dominating the entire game on the back of Ryan “JR” Na who played a perfect Di Renjie game to deny the sweep.
Game four was Tat Yann “MusangKing” Chan’s time to shine. The highly mechanical jungler decimated his fellow Malaysians using Yuhuan, scoring a flawless 4/0/5 KDA to take the game to a do-or-die.
TEAM SECRET tried to weather the storm in game five with a good pick-off composition but they could not break through LGD Gaming MY’s strong formation.
LGD held the lead throughout the game and never looked back, with the conclusion coming at the 14th minute where they took a three-for-none kill trade that opened their death push.
With the win, LGD Gaming MY took home US$100,000 and the title of the best team in Southeast Asia.
They have now become one of the favorites in the upcoming Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason X Esports World Cup” in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in August 2024.
