Mobile Legends Brody guide: Best build, skills, emblem, combos
This lone star is all about pain.
Updated on October 4, 5 p.m. (GMT+8): Adjusted battle spell, emblem, and best build based on MLBB patch 1.9.20
Brody, the Lone Star, is a marksman hero inMobile Legends: Bang Bang, and he feels and plays quite differently from traditional marksmen.
Similar toBarats,Luo Yi, andYu Zhong, his passive defines his playstyle.
Moreover, he is all about positioning, timing, and split decision making. To truly maximize his damage output, mastery will come into play.
A great Brody player will be seen navigating a fight by using the various sources of movement speed and spells with constant repositioning in relation to enemies.
Brody’s skills in Mobile Legends
Passive–Abyss Corrosion
With his Basic Attacks resonated with the Abyss Power within his body, Brody is able to move while winding up his Basic Attacks Basic Attacks (which will be interrupted when casting skills), at the cost of having longer Basic Attack Animation and lower Attack Speed.
Each Basic Attack deals Physical Damage (of which the damage scaling with level cannot be critical), increases Movement Speed which will decay rapidly, and inflicts a stack of Abyss Mark on the enemy, capped at a certain number of stacks. Marks applied last for a duration. Each stack of Abyss Mark increases Brody’s damage against the target and boosts his Movement Speed by a percentage.
First skill – Abyss Impact
Brody launches a shock wave in the designated direction, dealing Physical Damage, slowing the enemies for a duration, and applying a stack of Abyss Mark. As the shock wave travels, for each enemy it hits, it deals extra damage, inflicts extra slow effect, and applies an additional stack of Abyss Mark, capped at a certain percentage of damage, slow effect, and several stacks. This skill deals only a percentage of damage to minions.
Second skill – Corrosive Strike
Brody dashes to an enemy, dealing Physical Damage to the target, stunning the target for a duration, and inflicting a stack of Abyss Mark on the target. Upon hitting the target, he can move one more time in the movement direction, gaining Movement Speed that will decay rapidly.
Ultimate – Torn-Apart Memory
Brody locks on all the targets within a certain range, dealing Physical Damage to them. If the target has an Abyss Mark, all Abyss Marks will be reset, dealing Physical Damage for each stack the target has.
A comprehensive guide on how to play Brody in Mobile Legend
Recommended battle spell
Flicker and Purify are two of the best battle spells you may choose when playing Brody.
Flickergives you an extra dash, which is vital because Brody doesn’t have built-in mobility skills like other marksmen.
You can use Flicker to reposition yourself during team fights, chase down fleeing enemies, or escape when you’re in danger.
Purify, on the other hand, is perfect for when you’re facing a team with a lot of crowd control. If you get stunned or immobilized, Purify lets you instantly remove those effects, allowing you to keep attacking without interruption.
This is especially important for Brody, as his longer attack animations can leave you vulnerable. Using these spells wisely keeps you mobile and hard to pin down, maximizing your potential in battle.
Recommended emblem
Take the Assassin emblem to get a boost in Penetration, Attack and Movement Speed. For your talents, take Thrill, Master Assassin, and Lethal Ignition.
Master Assassin helps you deal extra damage when you’re attacking enemies who are alone. As Brody, you often focus on picking off isolated targets, and this talent boosts your burst potential, letting you take them down faster.
Quantum Charge gives you some much-needed mobility, as it restores a portion of your HP when you deal damage and increases your movement speed.
This is perfect for Brody since it helps you chase down enemies or escape dangerous situations after engaging in fights.
Best item build
Equipment-wise, instead of attack speed, you choose to build physical attack items. After buying Boots, purchase Blade of the Heptseas or Sky Piercer.
Start with Skypiercer if you have an aggressive team composition. It boosts your critical damage and lets you deal stronger hits early on. This helps you secure kills and apply pressure in the lane.
Build Blade of the Heptaseas if you want to have a more standard build. This item gives you early-game damage and kill potential as well.
Next, purchase Malefic Roar. This increases your physical penetration, allowing you to cut through the enemy’s armor, especially against tanks or high-defense heroes.
Wind of Nature is perfect for keeping you alive in crucial moments, as it gives you immunity to physical damage for a few seconds. This is a game-changer when you’re facing heavy physical attackers.
Then, buy Sea Halberd which reduces the healing of enemies you hit, making it especially useful against heroes with strong lifesteal or regeneration abilities.
Finally, Rose Gold Meteor gives you extra protection by providing a shield when your health drops low. It also adds more attack power and lifesteal, making you both harder to kill and stronger in fights.
The best build for Brody in Mobile Legends
Easy combos to learn
To play Brody effectively, focus on maximizing his passive, Abyss Corrosion, by weaving Basic Attacks between skills for higher burst damage.
Position yourself at the edge of fights to safely poke enemies, using Corrosive Strike to dash in and stun, followed by Abyss Impact to slow and build passive stacks.
Time your ultimate, Torn-Apart Memory, when enemies have full stacks to deal maximum damage, often securing kills.
Due to Brody’s lack of mobility, use Flicker or Purify for repositioning or escaping crowd control. Farm efficiently in the early game to build core items, and focus on taking down the enemy mage or marksman in team fights for quicker kills.
These strategies will help you make the most of Brody’s high burst potential and dominate the battlefield.
