Considering every single majorcharacter has a unique and deeply fleshed-out backstory, it only makes sense that it can be tough to experience absolutely every bit of lore the game has to offer in a single go. With two huge worlds to explore, there are plenty of plotlines just waiting to be discovered.

10What Is Noishe?

If you, like many other people, are curious about what exactly Noishe is, you can find an answer, sort of. If you go to Heimdall after its destruction, you can speak to a few Elf kids who seem to know something about Noishe.

Apparently, Noishe is a Protozoan, a unique kind of creature that evolves from form to form. Of course, dense as ever, Lloyd basically just dismisses the claims of the wise race and instead tells them that Noishe is just a simple dog. Believe it or not, Noishe does not resemblea single fluffy dogyou’ll find on your journey.

9Saving Clara

It’s possible that, by the time you’ve gotten through much of the game, you may have forgotten about Clara, the wife of the governor of Palmacosta, Dorr. Believe it or not, you actually have the option to wrap up that long-forgotten storyline if you so choose.

To do so, you’ll have to go to Izoold after you’ve dealt with the Remote Island Human Ranch to once again find the monstrous Clara. At this point, Raine should be able to heal her, showing a brief scene in which Clara is returned to normal.

8Corrine’s Return

When Corrine made a sacrifice to protect Sheena from Volt, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house, even if it was a bit of a fake-out. A lot of players might have assumed Corrine would return later, but never experienced it and carried on. You actually can see the return of Corrine if you head back to the Iselia area.

Sheena will begin to feel pulled toward Martel Temple, prompting you to head there. When you do, you’ll come across a new summon spirit, Verius. This is Corrine reborn, and the scene provides a bittersweet moment for Sheena that many players can miss.

7Presea’s Backstory

While the main story doesn’t seem all that interested in fleshing out Presea, you can follow a few interesting little side events to learn more about her and her sad past. One of the best lets you experience a certain group of people Presea may have some history with.

It’s a little side story that’s worth experiencing blind if fans of the game missed it, but just know that it’s a great way to learn more about her life. To begin the storyline you need to find a girl among the rich in Meltokio, and follow the steps laid out before you.

6Raine And Genis’ Mother

For a brief bit of hidden story on Raine and Genis, you shouldhead to the city in the sky, Exire, before you head off to Derris Kharlan. It’s at this point that you can learn about Raine and Genis’ mother, something that ends up being a bit of a rough time for Raine.

It’s a fascinating look at Raine and Genis, and how they ended up in Iselia. The whole thing ends with you receiving the half-elves' mother’s journal. Whether or not Raine and Genis ever truly come to terms with their mother’s actions is a different question.

5The Hot Springs

You can access this strangelittle RPG tropeof a plotline after the events of Flanoir so long as you have Zelos in your party when you head to the Hot Springs. All this goofy and mildly pervy scene does is further show off Zelos’ character while also setting Lloyd in an unwinnable situation.

Essentially, Zelos tries to get a look in at the women while they’re in the springs, something that Lloyd isn’t too happy about. Unfortunately, Lloyd ends up taking the accusation of being a bit of a pervert, and a couple of party members earn some unique titles.

4The Ball

To uncover this fun little plotline for the party, you actually have to first complete a side quest that sees you saving the princess of Meltokio with Zelos. After that, your group will find themselves invited to a ball at the castle.

It’s a fun little event that takes place after the events ofthe impressively snowy cityof Flanoir toward the end of the game, acting as a small bright spot before heading into the final hours. For all your effort, you’ll earn some unique costumes and titles as well.

Mithos reveals that Raine probably has something called the Ozette Flu and that he knows where the cure is. The whole plotline serves to flesh out the friendship between Mithos and Genis, while also letting Lloyd tag along to help when trouble inevitably arises.

2Kratos Trains Lloyd

This plotline is completely missable since each instance is only accessible at specific points, and you have to experience each one at the right time or risk missing the rest. Throughout the early game, you can actually experience scenes in which Kratos trainsthe iconic dual-wielderLloyd.

These scenes mean even more in retrospect considering you eventually learn Kratos is training his son. To experience the scenes you have to find a moment in Palmacosta, two in the Asgard area, and one in Hima. You aren’t rewarded with anything tangible, but it does increase the affection between Lloyd and Kratos for an optional scene later.

1Yuan’s Backstory

After the events of the Remote Island Human Ranch you can head back to Hima to find Yuan. You’ll have to continue to seek out Yuan across the world to learn that he’s currently searching for some kind of ring.

Eventually, you’ll learn that Yuan was actually supposed to get married to Martel before she died, kicking off the events of the game all those years ago. From there you can return the ring that you actually picked up after Kratos and Yuan clashed way back in Hima.
