Pokemon Scarlet and Violetintroduced one of the unique ways to allowPokemonto hit even harder with Terastallization. By allowing Pokemon to change their type, Terastallization gives utility to Pokemon previously limited by their typing.

Zangoose and Seviper facing off.

The Fighting Tera crown is a particularly interesting one, given that it’s the most offensive type in the series. They come in handy against Ice, Rock, Normal, Steel, and Dark-types, but they also have multiple weaknesses. While the cartoonish design is seldom seen on the ranked ladder, this fist fedora can be particularly useful for Ghost, Dark, and Normal-Types.

8Zangoose

This saucy snake catcher is one of Hoenn’s best designs, but its damage output tends to limit its presence in the competitive meta. It’s by no means weak, with its base 115 Attack and decent base 90 Speed.

While a simple Normal-type Terastallization is typically enough to boost Zangoose’s sweeping potential properly, it can maximize its super-effective utility with a Fighting Tera Type. With Swords Dance and Close Combat in its naturally learned movepool, this mighty mongoose can quickly snowball its power and deliver devastating blows with the Fighting Tera Crown.

7Tauros (Blaze Breed)

The Blaze Breed may not be the top pick of Tauros' new regional variants, but with a Fighting-type Terastallization, this brave bull can run with the best. Tauros has always been a competitively viable Pokemon, especially with Anger Point.

A group of Weavile in the snowy landscape at night.

This ability maxes out its Attack after taking a critical hit, which can be done with Meowscarada as its teammate using Flower Trick. This combo packs an even bigger punch with a Fighting-type Terastallization, increasing this burning bovine’s fighting moves even further. You don’t want to catch these horns, especially when there’s a fist between them.

6Weavile

Weavile is an incredibly offensive Pokemon, so the fact that it benefits from one of the most offensive types in the game makes sense. As an Ice and Dark dual type, its four times weakness used to make Fighting-types its biggest threat.

A Fighting-type Terastallization not only turns this weakness into a resistance, but also threatens the Steel and Rock-types that would otherwise be a concern. With a fist fit on its feathered crown, this frosty fiend becomes quite the frightening foe for any opponent.

5Froslass

Another Ice-type that gets a bump from the fisted crown is the spine-shivering spirit Froslass. This Ice and Ghost-type gets both an offensive and defensive boost from the Fighting Tera Crown.

Midday Lycanroc howling.

With a base of 70 HP, Froslass doesn’t have the bulk to stay around long regardless of its typing, but the Fighting Tera Crown provides a critical chance to counterattack. It resists its Dark, Steel, and Rock-type weaknesses and allows it to return fire with devastating force. It’s a cold-hearted option that provides incredible utility for this ice queen.

4Lycanroc

This dusty dog is not only one of the most beloved Pokemon of Gen Seven, but it’s also a prime candidate for the handy helmet. Lycanroc has received a bit of a renaissance in Gen Nine, mostly due to its Speed in a sandstorm and access to Endeavor. However, a Fighting-type Terastallization puts a lot more bark in its bite.

It is a particularly good treat for Aloha’s best boi, allowing it to utilize its Sand Rush Ability to quickly KO enemies with Close Combat, and with a metathat favors Steel Tera Types, it’s a fantastic counter. Lycanroc’s base 115 attack means this pupper punches pretty hard, making it a prime pick for the Fighting Tera Crown.

Pawmot, Pawmo and Pawmi in a line.

3Pawmot

Paldea’s Pikachu clone looks like the famous mascot did the fusion dance with Goku — and with a fighting Tera crown, this analogy is even more fitting. Pawmot is not only one of just two Pokemon with access to the teammate resurrecting move Revival Blessing, but also gets access to Double Shock, a base 120 power Electric-type move that removes its Electric typing upon use.

Since using Double Shock typically turns it into a mono-Fighting type regardless, the Fighting Tera Crown gives a STAB boost to this Poke-Saiyan’s fighting-friendly movepool. With the ability to revive fallen teammates, powerful Electric moves, and Tera-boosted Close Combats, the Fighting Tera Crown makes this mouse as mighty as any anime protagonist.

2Staraptor

Sinnoh’s fiercest falcon is fantastic with the Fighting Tera crown. As a Normal and Flying-type, it struggles against bulky Pokemon, especially Rock, Ice, and Steel-types. With a base 120 Attack and natural access to Close Combat, Staraptor not only covers its weakness, but threatens them as well.

While there are plenty of counter attackers that prefer the Fighting Tera Crown, this feisty feathered friend gets the most out of it since it has the bulk and movepool to maximize its potential. Its Intimate ability and access to Tailwind can make it a critical pivot for any team, so its utility with the Fighting Tera Crown is simply another feather in its cap.

1Gallade

By far, the finest fit for the fist fedora is none other than Gallade. Gen Nine introduced the new Ability Sharpness, which increases the power of slicing-type moves by 50 percent, and of all the Pokemon currently with access to it, Gallade has the highest Attack.

As Gallade is a Psychic and Fighting-type with a base 125 Attack, being on the receiving end of its Sacred Sword was already a major concern for its opponents, but combining the boost from Terastallization and Sharpness allows it to cut through opponents' defenses with ease. Gallade gets the most offensive utility out of the most offensive type in the game, making this swordsman the superior selection for the Fighting Tera Crown.
