Lairon Crown Zenith card from the Pokemon Crown Zenith TCG set

Within the set are 16 new Steel-Type Pokemon cards that can brighten up your deck if you give them a chance. With these cards, you can make any foe you face cower at the mighty might of steel you bring.

10Lairon

At a glance, Lairon doesn’t seem that special, and plus, it does cost a bit of Energy to get this card going. However, with such a strong attack in Wreak Havoc, there are times when it’s worth the cost. Wreak Havoc does 80 damage, consequential but nothing too outstanding.

The real kicker is the ability: you keep flipping a coin until you get tails, and for every head you get, you discard a card off the top of your opponent’s deck. This is a very high-risk-high-reward type of card, where if things go well, your opponent will have less mobility to strike back against you.

9Bisharp

The Sword Blade Pokemon, Bisharp, greatly supports any metal Energy deck. For an Energy of any type, Bisharp can use Spike Draw, which deals 20 damage but allows you to draw two cards with no drawbacks.

Bisharp can utilize Power Edge for one extra metal Energy, which deals 70 damage. Being able to deal damage while stacking the hand with no fault is a welcoming ability, making Bisharp a great card to look for.

Scizor Crown Zenith card from the Pokemon Crown Zenith TCG set

8Scizor

The Pincer Pokemon, Scizor, is great for providing damage in a game. This card’s X-Scissors ability does 30 damage, but by flipping a coin and landing on heads, this card can deal an additional 30. But this card’s second move is where it really shines.

With three Energy of any kind, Scizor can use the Dangerous Claws ability, which does a tremendous 80 damage, but if it is used against a Basic Pokemon Card, it does an additional 80 damage, dealing 160 damage in total. This Pokemon is sure to cut your competition down in half.

7Aggron

If you’re looking for defensive fighters, then the Iron Armor Pokemon Aggron is the card for you. This Pokemon has access to two attacks, the first one being Counter Press. For a single metal Energy and two of any other Energy, Aggron can deal 90 damage.

If this Pokemon is damaged by an attack (even if it is knocked out), you can put damage counters on the Attacking Pokemon equal to the damage done to this Pokemon. For one extra metal Energy, Aggron will then have access to Heavy Impact, which does 180 damage. This Pokemon is great for punishing your opponent for hitting it and then knocking them out immediately after.

6Zacian

This Warrior Pokemon has access to a couple of good moves. For a single metal Energy, you may use Zacian’s Battle Legion attack that does 20 damage and ten more damage for each of your Benched Pokemon while not being affected by Weakness or any effects of your Opponent’s Active Pokemon.

Also, you have access to Zacian’s Slicing Blade attack that does 100 damage for two extra Energy of any type. This card could be better, but it can deal good damage while bypassing Weaknesses and Resistance.

5Zamazenta

The Warrior Pokemon Zamazenta not only brings a great defense but an outstanding offense as well. This card has the Metal Shield ability, meaning that, if this Pokemon has any Energy attached to it, it takes 30 less damage after applying Weakness and Resistance. Not only that, but it has the move Retaliate that does 100 damage.

It also does 120 more damage if any of your Pokemon were Knocked Out during your opponent’s last turn. With a move like that, Zamazenta guarantees to take out one of your opponent’s Active Pokemon as a revenge fighter.

4Zacian V

This version of Zacian is a powerhouse. For one metal Energy, you have access to this card’s Piercing Strike attack, which does 40 damage to your Opponent’s Active Pokemon while not being affected by Weakness or Resistance.

Then, for an extra metal Energy and one of any Energy, Zacian V has access to the Behemoth Blade attack that does 100 damage, but if your opponent’s Active Pokemon is a VMAX, then the attack does an extra 160 damage. Totaling the attack’s damage output to 260, almost guaranteeing a knocked-out Pokemon on your opponent’s side.

Plus, this card has access to the VSTAR Power Shield Star. During your opponent’s next turn, all your Pokemon take 100 less damage from your opponent’s Pokemon. With this ability, you can save any Pokemon in your possession and waste your opponent’s turn, making this card a great defensive option for your deck.

1Zacian VSTAR

This card will be the bane of your opponent’s existence. For two metal Energy and one of any other Energy, Zacian VSTAR can use the attack Break Edge, which does 200 damage to your Opponent’s Active Pokemon and isn’t affected by Weakness or Resistance. But that isn’t the real jaw-dropper.

This card’s VSTAR Power, Sword Star, does 310 damage. Yes, you read that number correctly. The only downside to the VSTAR Power is that Zacian does 30 damage to itself, but that doesn’t matter when the Pokemon has a base HP of 270. Plus, it’s a small price when you’re guaranteed to knock out an opponent’s Pokemon.
