A newProfessor Layton game, The New World of Steam has been announced during tonight’sNintendo Direct. First released in 2007 for the Nintendo DS, the Professor Layton puzzle games have gained wide-spread love among Nintendo fans. It’s been six years since the last one, so fans may have given up hope, but the series will live on.
The game looks like it will have a steampunk setting, as implied by both the name and industrial revolution aesthetic shown in the very short teaser trailer revealed during the Direct. That’s really all we know for now.

Also revealed in the Nintendo Direct wasa gameplay trailer for the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the sequel to the phenomenal Breath of the Wild. This series has breathed new life into the franchise and Zelda fans have been chomping at the bit for years hoping to see more of this upcoming game.
We got a glimpse of a zombified Ganon destroying Hyrule Castle, and Link absolutely shredding while grinding down some rails like Sega mascot Sonic. It should still be launching May 26, 2025, and you can also pre-order a Nintendo Switch with a Tears of the Kingdom design.
There’s also a fully-fledged remaster of Metroid Prime launching digitally later today, with physical copies available February 22. This was the first 3D outing for Samus and her nemesis Ridley, and it looks glorious on the Switch. Fans have wanted this for years, and leakers even correctly foretold it would be shadow dropped today. Christmas has come early. Or, late, I suppose.
